2:58 You can toggle between clean and affected signal (depending on the bypass status) for the XLR output using the 'XLR bypass' button located on the side of the pedal.

I think this will probably be my first bass pedal. It is more of a utility pedal than a novelty pedal, and that is exactly what I want. Also, the price point is spot on. EHX makes good gear, end of story.

Far out. I've had this pedal for a while now and I didn't twig that removing the treble and high mid from the signal in dry drive mode would solve my beef with the OD sounding too fizzy and digital. It's so obvious and I feel like a massive idiot.

I think it sound pretty different than any Darkglass I heard until now and it also has different controls.

darkglass stuff has a lot more grindy tones when it comes to the distortion regardless this is a super cool sounding bass pre definitely a good option for people to have if they arent really liking what the ampeg bass driver or any of the darkglass stuff does

Awesome demo. \m/ the battalion sounds killer with that bass. I personally like the distortion channel. It sounds like it can go from a light grit to a heavy distortion. The clean channel sounds nice too. Other than that, I like the battalion. If I ever needed a preamp pedal, I might consider getting this or the darkglass vintage deluxe.

Recently updated: I’ve purchase the ehx battalion a few months ago and it sounds phenomenal. I totally dig the clean and distortion channels. It’s definitely versatile and very useful for ampless recordings and gigs. I definitely recommend it.

Hey, I can't find a single video explaining how the dry output works with pedals and the DI. Do I run the pedal chain back into the Battalion so that I can get my effects into the DI?

The "dry" output is a copy of whatever is given to the battalion as input. If you want your effects to appear on your dry output, you have to put them before the battalion (which is probably exactly what you want them, I think of it more like an amp than an effect)

Thats what i was looking for. I cant find a answer. Im guessing since that this is a pre amp i would say yes, i have a darkglass b7k ultra and it doesn't. I was hoping this does so i can put this after my darkglass, then go out of the ehx di into my interface without any irs or anything

why do people always review cheap pedals by using the most high-end guitars and amps they can find? If we had the SVT or that bass w/e it's called, we wouldn't be looking for a EHX Battalion (with all due respect to EHX, they do have awesome and more high-end stuff).

bought one .... tested it for a whole day .... returned it get a sans amp or if you are broke get the behringer bdi21 for $35 bucks and u will be better off and with the extra $150 in your pocket buy some other stuff hahahaha
