Difficulty removing the front panel Solved. After following this very helpful video I ran into problems removing the front panel. I figured out the issue is the tabs that hold the panel onto the bulk head. My dryer has 4 tabs. The tabs have a notch cut into them that were kinda lock the panel in place. I needed to push the panel into the dryer when trying to lift up wards so the this notch would clear the bulkhead. I could then lift the panel away from bulkhead. I found out the laying the dryer onto its back allowed me to push down on one side then tab on the front panel bottom edge, watching the empty screws hole allowed me to monitor my progress. I then repeated on the other side and was able to lift the panel away. Good luck.

Disassembled just as the video indicated, perfect directions. The problem? A sock had been sucked down the exhaust and into the squirrel cage fan, jamming it. The lint screen had somehow become dislodged and provided a path for the sock. Removed sock, replaced panels and hardware. Fixed!! Thank you!! [I found it easier and safer to remove the control panel bracket from the control panel sub-assembly, to provide access to the plug connecting the control panel circuit board to the main unit. Doing this provided full finger access to the connector, without fear of slicing my fingers open.]

Hi guys - after reading some of the comments I realize I'm not the first to forget to put the lint screen into the trap before starting the dryer with a load in it. That caused a sock to get sucked into the fan, which created a revolting rumbling sound. I watched your video, stripped down the front of the dryer, pulled the sock out, and had the dryer back together and running fine in under 30 minutes. A huge thank you, and also Merry Christmas from cold and snowy North Pole, Alaska.

After watching this video, I was completely prepared to handle replacing the motor in my Eletrolux dryer. There were some slight differences and it took a 1 1/8 socket on the fan for my model. But close enough. Great video!

THANK YOU! I had a feather pillow explode while drying. I was able to take the whole thing apart, and vacuum out the feathers that had gotten outside of the drum, and put it back together without having extra parts left over ;) Thankfully there was no fire!

Excellent step-by-step video. My front panel was stuck to the bulkhead and didn't lift away as easy as the video showed. The factory used too much glue for the door seal on the front panel. Excess glue leaked onto the bulkhead and glued the front panel to the bulkhead. I thought there was another screw I was missing. After some force it came apart. Also watch which screws you remove for the control panel. Take out the ones into the side panels and not the ones thru the panel's plastic feet.

What are the rubber pads on the sides and lid of the dryer cabinet called, or where can i find these? The pad on my dryer's lid is drooping down and hardened and rubs against the drum.

This was awesome, we received a dented dryer for free (can't complain!) but the left side had a dent that was rubbing against the drum. After a few weeks of this, it was driving me nuts. Removed top, used a hair dryer to heat up the side/dent and a piece of wood to push it out.

Our Frigidare Affinity dryer was a bit different. I did not need to remove the hinge to the door. The two screws that attach the door to the front bulkhead allowed me to lift up the door 1/4" to slide it out of a "keeper" slot. I had to release the idler wheel from the back maintenance opening. Still it was invaluable to getting the bearing and belt replacement done. (I had to remove the three screws from inside of the drum to release the bearing assembly. Mine wouldn't lift out.)

@Randy Spangler~ Bless you & the day you decided to leave that comment! We are so grateful for this information, very clear & concise info at that. Purchased this 2009 set recently, at a yard sale, for $100, complete with both pedestal drawers & manuals. The price was low as the power cord on the dryer needed replaced, which was simple, and the dryer door needed a new latch strike. We were assured that both worked fine~ younger couple said they had been propping the door shut with a board! Anyhow, we decided it would be wise to take both machines apart , as far down as we could, in order to do a thorough cleaning, inspection etc.. After researching a bit, looking at the dryer diagrams we found and so forth, we were still a bit puzzled at the exact place noted in your comment~three different sources failed to show or notate the steps you provided~Thank you so very much for taking the time to do so! Sincerely, Dan & Samantha Whitson- N.M.

I had a little difficulty lifting the drum out as shown but gently pried the edge of the drum using the back edge for a fulcrum and it popped out quite easily, just so you know and were ever unlucky enough to have to do it again.

The dryer I disassembled had a lock nut on the blower fan wheel. Is this necessary? The blower fan wheel broke and the lock nut was stuck in place. We bought a new blower fan and motor. The new blower fan wheel that we bought was more similar to your wheel. The old wheel did not have a 7/8 inch hex on it, it was only round at its connection. The new fan wheel has this like yours. I bought a wheel lock nut (which as it turns out is only a 1/4-20 nut for which i spent $20 with shipping ) because there was one on the old wheel but I have a feeling it may be unnecessary since yours does not have one.

I have an Electrolux dryer that was accidentally left with wet clothes for almost a week. Now it stops after about 20 seconds after I start it and it tells me my clothes are dry. Which they are not of course. I suspect it might be a sensor for how much moisture there is in the air coming from the clothes and that it might bee corrode and then not reading correctly. Can this be the case? I can clearly see lots of spots of corrosion in the drum.
@repairclinic
@repairclinic 8 жыл бұрын
+Jonulf Sen Look for a moisture sensor on the blower housing that may have shorted or perhaps the thermistor is defective.

+fuzyhentaipanda Your user display and interface may be starting to fail. You might look for a loose wire or connector on the back of the display board. Be sure to disconnect power before you take anything apart.
