Random teardown video time. Saw this guy for something like $1.50 so why not pick one up just to teardown and maybe make something random with?

We call it mechanical totalizer for Dispensing Pump that uses in the Fuel /Gas Station. For inventory of beggining and ending sales of fuel per Liter.😂

I also thought of making a clock, but you are right, it would take a long time to skip the missing digits. 235959 to 000000 will take over 11 hours at 18 counts per second lol!

You could make it into a clock, sort of. Since there are not 100 seconds in a minute, you could have it in percentage of a minute. 50 on the counter would be 30 seconds. 75 would be 45 seconds. Kind of a clock but in code. It would probably have to be in 24 hour formate. You could have it reset at 24 hours.

They must've sold out of the one I bought because the cheapest ones they have now are like $6 and look different. Ebay search "electromechanical counter" to find them.

@@sjm4306 yeah now I found them but there low on stock and thank you this is exactly what I needed as it keeps display on even without electricity and they cost a bit more in the UK like maybe equal to 3-4$ I subed and will be watching yr vids.

What happens if you keep it attached to the battery for say 10 secs?? Will it keep incrementing or will just add single number

It is essentially a solenoid with a ratcheting indicator so it only counts rising edges. So in the case of a 10 sec pulse it would only increment once. You would have to be careful about heating and burning out the coil for very long pulses but it should be fine given the impedance of the coil and the 12v rating.

@@sjm4306 i made a 555 delay off circuit and attached a relay on output via c828 Now i wanna count everytime 555 gets triggered and keep that number so that it doesn't go to zero when power disconnects. Basically count how many times something was turned on for 2mins (delay i gonna set) Any suggestions will be very much appreciated.

You could get one of those cheap dollar store pedometers and wire the weight switch to the 555 trigger. When you wanna count, just clear the count and it is good to go. It will otherwise keep the count as it has its own battery.

Either pulse it till it rolls over to all 0's or open it and move all the wheels to 0. Keep in mind these are generally supposed to keep track of an event in a non-tamperable way so it was never meant to be easily reset.

Chip Chip Cheerio By this point pretty much everything has been done so we are all just copying each other with slight variations of our own style of modding. Then again that's what makes this all interesting, seeing how we can take similar ideas but approach solving problems differently.

Any improvement on the other small project than you have or is sitting on the side?, also 2 arcade games i got have a counter for coins as well one have the 93,835 and the other 101,833

Cesar Melendrez Bought and breadboarded an rgb to composite converter chip so I can hopefully use a small LCD for testing. Gotta get the unboxing edited and uploaded. Also got a new oscilloscope which should help with debugging (video on that soon).
