There are very precise things you need to do to cut the impeller out that way you do not damage anything. Wish I could show you. Took me a bit of time to cut the impeller out but got it out in pretty much pristine condition.

This was exactly what I was looking for! Wanted a better view of the inside that wasn’t a 3D rendering.

Good video question can the vacuum be used without the small black and red small wires being connected to the motherboard? I broke the small click that is attached to the motherboard. Good video thanks for your help

hello , according to my experience ,Dyson`s product always add lot of "protecting"or"self lock" program,so i think it will not work if you disconnect any wire.

You can remove the white cement/epoxy glue with a flat heat screw driver or anything similar, just scratch on it and it come off like powder. Once you scratch enough of it and give it a light knock around the white glue area and a little twist, it come off very easily You can remove the coil the same way too, but I tried on the coils, I get some plastic breaking off but still able to assemble them back To remove the rotor the coils must be remove, give it a light whack at the end with the little circle magnet and it will come off too That way u will have the rotor out perfectly I did all fine except for the damage when prying the coil out The rotor housing body probably got compromised due to breakage and might shatter when enough force is applied

Curious what brings you to opening a Dyson motor? Anyhow, I developed a very specific surgical protocol to get the impeller rotor assembly out in good condition. You gotta be patient and NOT RUSH. First cut the columns, remove the circuit board carefully, cut the outer shell and it will come off easily, remove the stators, and remove the housing for the top bearing carefully, then remove the bottom plastic diffuser and then you can slide out the impeller once you free the upper bearing

@@ParkRyan123 if you cut it, the structure will be more weak than trying to break the coil out from the housing. Even though you might break some plastic around it as it is glued and the plastic housing seems to be fibre glass reinforced hard but brittle,you still have some plastic holding the whole housing together and able to piece it back fully and work Actually what really make me do a full teardown is because mine don't spin up well and I took apart and manual spin it by gripping the back of the shaft with a plier, I saw the shaft spin but the magnet was attracted to the stator and didn't spin. I then tried to poke around the white glue between the outer and inner housing of the motor unit. I scratched it, came off easily Tried pouring some ipa/lighter fluid/pcb board flux cleaner, didn't soften it to easily dig away. So no choice I just scratch it with a flat head screwdriver till it is thin, gave some good knock around it and it is free. The white glue will detach from the outer housing as the plastic is very smooth. Probably if u give some good knock but not to hard to crack the plastic, you only need some scratching or none Then I took apart the easiest coil that have the least glue and applied some glue between the shaft and magnet, but didn't hold well enough. Just that I was lucky the magnet and the back position magnet is aligned so it spins well, but after a few starts and stop it broke free and same problem appear again 😢 I could have do a tear down video. But unfortunately I don't have another broken motor to do it again.

Wonder if the motor is repairable? Which actually fails - bearings?

The small fans produce large pressure because they simply spin at high speed, about 55000 rpm (85% faster than regular vacuum motors) or 100000 rpm max mode (300% faster than regular facuum motor). It can do the same job but quieter and more lightweight.

So Dysons motors are brushed? Which means they will eventually deteriorate?
@studytech91922 жыл бұрын
yes
@blakaeg2 жыл бұрын
Dyson say these are brushless
@blakaeg2 жыл бұрын
@@studytech9192 No these are supposed to be brushless

my v10 motor froze after 2.5 years of use! not so rugged! maybe the high rpm has a price to pay in rapid wear and tear. Not good.
