In this video I'm using the awesome LFO Designer on the Octatrack to add some rhythmic interest to some percussion tracks.

oh wow that LFO designer is super cool - I have had this thing for years and I've never even noticed it! (I have an MKI and it's the same)

Using the LFO designer is a new one for me, normally I p lock the release on all my hats to get some subtle variation. Seems like your method could be very useful and save time if set up in a template. Thanks for sharing.

I do the parameter lock thing often too. It's also pretty quick I think. Combining the two can also be fun!

The button pressing is bewildering to me because I don't understand the Octatrack language but the combination of LFO activities at specific steps in the sequence in the sequence produces very interesting results. I found myself imagining how these elements could be produced in different ways using another way of sequencing. It's always good to set the imagination to work in this way. "How could I get this or that feature using my workflow?"

Yes, I absolutely agree. I love trying the same thing on different machines. Sometimes that leads to things I otherwise never would have thought of.

mixing level: your voice level is clearly the master volume...hard to focus the rythm without being disturbed

I’m so torn between the octatrack and the deluge and you’re not making it any easier

I completely understand your dilemma. they're both such amazing instruments, makes it hard to pick one over the other...
