Thank you so much! My 8-year old daughter wanted to give up her swimming class as she was not able to do the "stroke" and felt extremely discouraged and sad. After I showed her this video, she was practicing it on a chair and could finally do it in the water! Not only did she pass the test but most importantly she gained back her confidence and continue taking the next level of the swimming class! THANK YOU!

I do this stroke in laps as part of my swimming exercise routine, and I find it to be a great leg/hips, inner thigh workout!

Thanks for the video. It is very clear and helpful. But I'm stil confused: Why my waist and legs keep sinking? I cannot get them flat, I mean always near the surface of the water. Thanks in advance for any response.

The "whip" kick or breaststroke/elementary backstroke kick is difficult to learn. You may be sitting and lifting your knees out of the water while kicking. This would cause your hips to sink. Think about bringing your heels to your butt on the kick. Don't let you knees come out of the water too much.

No, whatever is comfortable. Using a smooth, relaxed, motion is more important.
