He was a man who was good and for a time was finally corrupted like Frodo. What was the Ring of Isildur, he took and knew as a burden to save Middle Eath. Perhaps his spirit went to the Valinor, and straight to the Halls of Mandos for a short rest. There he would meet other Elven hero's that saw his bravery and sacrifice and honor him for it was the Will of Eru that he heal, like the other Ringbearers. And for a time, he would finally go where Men sleep. I believe fully, that he rested in Valinor for a time and finally went to see his wife and child again. Tolkien always left the resting place for humanities souls an unknown. But knowing him it was different than the Halls of Mandos but still beautiful. A pleasant dream that isn't a dream, where the memories of Life are softened and given a more open view, unobtainable in those Moments. Where ones feelings of regret, hatred and evil and met by those that arrived before you with understanding, forgiveness and love.

Great mechanics like assassins creed and Batman fighting style with great RPS elements and very cool maps to explore. One of my fav games to date

Basically, Morgoth is the original Dark Lord and Sauron was his servant at first. It's too long to write, but I'd say this - he probably could do to Sauron what Gandalf or Saruman could do to a human, if they used their full potential. Morgoth is a Valar, while Sauron is a Maia. If you watched Supernatural it's like Archangel vs Angel.

There is no question that Morgoth at his greatest, in the Years of the Trees, was much more powerful than Sauron ever was. Tolkien said that Sauron at his greatest (the end of the Second Age) was greater than Morgoth at his weakest (the end of the First Age), and that the reason for this was that Sauron was more clever in the use of his power.

He _is_ in the form of an elf. Saying he is disguised as a fair Maiar doesn't even make sense, because Maiar do not have any innate physical forms to speak of. A fair Maiar does not "look like" anything.

Not only that, but the destruction of the One Ring undid everything made from it and ended the power of the other rings. So while we're not told exactly what happens to the Nine Riders (well, save The Witch King,) it is most likely that they were released from Sauron's power and faded, or died immediately.

Agree. They werent that good games but they stayed more true to Tolkiens lore and were able to create deeper athmosphere than this billion dollar show. Its strange but this really showcases how bad Rings of Power really is. When they made xenophobic racists out of Numenorians I gave up. No creativity, pure political hate agenda and even the design like armors etc lacks often like its a trashy budget movie.

But I am pretty sure Tolkien referenced Sauron as having lost that ability when his physical presence was destroyed together with the fall of Numenor. Still it was a creative and well thought out approach that really felt like characters in middle earth.

They took a lot of liberties with the lore, like severely compressing the timelines. This is evident when Gollum shows up during the Siege of Minas Ithil (and he was in the first game as well). This happened about a thousand years before LOTR, so roughly 500 before Smeagol was born. He's also the post-losing his "precious" version of Gollum, making it only a few decades before LOTR. Eh, I still enjoyed his story arc and take this whole game story for what it is.

The elves in this look far more elven. in RoP they just look like normal people with pointed ears, there's nothing about the face or eyes or the way they move or talk that sets them apart. Here and in the Peter Jackson movies they have that ethereal otherworldliness.

Yeah...not really. The fall of Adam was really all god's fault. God deliberately made a fucked up universe, then created a pair of beings that didn't know anything, but had free will. Then got mad when the female one exerted that free will in ignorance to tell him and Adam to go stuff it...so he made a NEW female one out of Adam, explicitly so that she would serve, rather than rebel...but then gave her free will anyway, and then told them not to eat a certain tree's fruit...after putting it in the most prominent place in the garden, KNOWING they had no concept of what obedience even was. . The guy had perfect knowledge, ultimate power...and still fucked up. He already knew the future, and had the power to fix it before even making the universe at all...and CHOSE not to. That's just...hopelessly stupid.

That's book canon. This is movie universe canon. They delayed the fall as to coincide with this game. People need to look past the lore of the book and enjoy the game for what it is. If you don't like the gameplay than don't like the gameplay but don't dismiss it because it goes against what you purists think.

The game is entirely fan fiction, it's not even close to accurate.
