This is my 2nd round game against GM Arkadij Naiditsch from the 2024 Fujairah Blitz Tournament.
The game featured fascinating gambit idea against a variation of the Grand Prix Attack in the Sicilian Defense. See the Fujairah Blitz Chess playlist here: • Fujairah Blitz 2024

LOL and a bishop first at 1:58. I wonder since he kept it/them in his left hand whether he was a lefty and didn't want to make a move with his left and then use his right to push the clock by accident (you have to use the same hand as the one moving the piece).

It's the tricky moves that separate IM 's from GM's. It's the ability to see the unusual, see the threats, the unusual moves, looking beyond the obvious .. so to speak. It's also in this game uncovering King safety rather than winning pawns. Great game. Thx

The first gambit is actually the move recommended by Stockfish. I am running it right now, and at a depth of 31 moves, it is giving it a 0.0 rating. The next best move (g6) is +0.6. The second gambit is also the preferred move at a depth of 34, just edging out Ba6. A really nice game. Everything was fairly equal until Rosen allowed the fork that cost him his rook. The opening is a very interesting line with moves that don't seem that intuitive. He seems to have prepared that line rather than just calculating on the fly. The postscript about the right move where Rosen blundered the rook was good. However, I took it back a step, to black's previous move. While 24. .. Na4 worked well for him in this situation, Rosen pointed out the problem for Naiditch in that situation. Instead of Na4, Naiditch could have played Rg4. After that, 25. Nd6 meets with Bg5+, and Naiditch would have been fine. After 24. ...Na4, Bg5 doesn't work, because the rook on f4 means that the bishop does not deliver check, so white just takes the rook on e8.

Lol around like 4 minutes, maybe a bit later his opponent took one of the pawns that were out already and took them under the table. Then once both hands emerged again the pawn wasn't coming with. I thought he was gonna yoink himself a little trophy, but later he did put it back so I guess it was just resting on the chair/lap and he was just fiddling with it for concentration etc. Great match though and Idk if you edited this yourself or you have a guy, but I like the subtle editing with the tense music, some zoom ins and stuff. Good stuff man, I like this format.
