I guess I would have to see what a "short stroke" looks like. I don't fully extend on speed work because it almost always results in overextension, but it looks just like a full rep to the crew. Max's effort is different - I extend to a competition legal finish with each rep. All the tips and techniques you folks have posted here - like the take out is a forward movement off the j hooks - are key and are excellent. So I will take the short stroke as being an obviously incomplete rep :)

So I have the same issues (the tendonitis in the bicep on mainly on the decent) and I don't short stroke any reps on bench, only pause reps and lock every rep out heavy or light still have this issue

They literally had a video a few weeks ago talking about how a lot of bodybuilders have less injuries because of that style training. Now they're saying it's bad? Gotta love content for the sake of content

I think it's a difference between bodybuilding and powerlifting

Not really.. bodybuilding is all hypertrophy, or keeping the muscle under tension, so you don't have to lock out and put stress on joints as much. big example is Ronnie Coleman's ROM. during powerlifting, you have to have full reps and work weak points to create maximum power, either from a dead lift or to full extension.

Dave has had many different stages… speed work with short strokes is not the same as muscle work with short strokes.

He clearly stated that it’s the difference between training for bodybuilding vs training for powerlifting, where lockouts are necessary for competition.
