If there’s anyway at all you guys can go Hello Kitty on his bow I really think it will be next level. FWIW I’ve got 3 of those Bitz jigs, all setup exactly the same and only one produces the most beautiful vanes. It’s able to put it just a little more twist in those vanes than the other two.

Another awesome video! Great job!! I believe the 75x105 was popular when you didn't have drop away rests and risers that were cut-out, because you would have less disturbance from feathers striking rest or riser. Better clearance. Still popular today for traditional bows where feather still contact riser while being shot. I still have four Bitzenburgers in use from 1980!

One thing I do with my jig that I have been fletching arrows with since about 1978 is mark the starting point on the knob that rotates the arrow. That way, any minor differences in arrow position created by the mechanism itself is repeated fletch by fletch on every arrow. Probably not a big deal, but eliminates another potential inconsistency between arrows.

OK, I can't wait to see the advanced arrow testing that JJ is talking about doing. Inquiring minds want to know. I'm sticking with the EZ Fletch Mini Max... nothing better or easier. And if the parachute effect is a concern for TAC, you can always use a lower profile vane (since you're using field points anyway)

2 things. First great video, please do more of these for the at home DIY people. Would also love to see a review or list of equipment you think most people should have at home. Personally, I am in the market for a bow vise for doing some home tuning and would love some information about what I should be looking for, what's recommended, etc. Second, just a bit of criticism (sorry), when filming things like this where you are explaining and showing people how to do things, show what you are doing more than focusing so close on people's faces.

I also own both of the AAE Bitz knobs...the 344 and the 456 They are incredible! I would like to add one very important point of the AAE knobs is if you bare shaft and index your nocks the knob allows you to loosen a lock screw. Then turn the arrow (without turning the nock) to perfectly line up your index mark with the cock vane on a 120 x 3 or perfectly line up the center of a 90 x 4. It's an awesome feature. Wouldn't it be great to have a jig that as you adjust the jig you could have micro click in 1/2 degree increments left or right?

JUst got back into building my arrows , was using the Arizona , quick and easy , but not consistent . Just got two Bitzers , one for .246 arrows and one for .204 , once modified and set up , just love it . Something satisfying about relaxing and fletching arrows to my liking . The results are far superior . I did add the AAE knock mod to each . Excellent upgrade for knock point sbut even more for replacing single vane . Couldnt be happier .

If you get the archery trigger for the labradar, it is very accurate. The problem with shooting thru a regular chrono at distance is you have a tiny window to try and hit to get consistent readings. There is a small middle section you need to hit every time, any deviation from the "sweet spot" causes irregular readings. You can test it by shooting up close and shooting towards the top of the supports, then shoot low, left and right. Been deep down that rabbit hole lol. The archery trigger is key to the labradar though, without it i got funky readings too.

I love my Bitzenburger arrow jig, the only problem is that if you want your nock fletch in the up position (different color nock fletch) you have to rotate your nock approximately 33*. The problem is when you damage a fletch and try to replace it with the Bitzenburger, you'll to remember exactly where you originally had the nock. Other than that, it's a great fletching tool. I know I'm not as smart as MFJJ, that is why I watch all of his videos and elk shape videos. Looking forward to what is the best offset straight, 2% offset or the 6%. Thanks for all the info!!

Great content! There are high speed camera videos of arrows with proper rotation to the bow string after CLOCKING THE SHAFT and then going counter rotation and it makes a huge difference with rotation in the Correct Clocking direction. So like you said increasing the efficiency of your set up so offset could give you better rotation in proper direction in your case you said counter clockwise as oppose to Helical in wrong direction giving you more drag and slowing your arrow.. Nice job guys! Always picking up pearls from you guys Thanks

Over the last thirty plus years I’ve experimented with I don’t know how many vanes, arrow brands and spines, points and fixed blade heads. I’ve never used a mechanical as there’s no physical reason to use them. And when I change to different shafts I experiment more. It’s a game in my mind. And to win is getting super awesome flight out of each shaft.

MFJJ my dude. Just use the LabRadar (Ballistic Velocity Doppler Radar Chronograph) to show the speed degradation of the arrows. You could make some pretty sweet graphs showing the speeds at 20,40,60 etc. That way you can test bare shafts vs 2 degree, vs heavy helical.

If I remember the lighter arrows (under 500 gr) were slower at the bow but more equal at the 100 yard range,,,, they maintained more momentum.

clocking does make a difference. in slow motion i noticed if the bow is shooting right clock and you fletch left or viceversa i noticed the arrow will come off the string the way the bow is naturally clocked but once the fletching start to take over the arrow will act like a knuckleball out to about 30 yard then the fletching takes over and that is the moment of the knuckleball flight happens.

using different jigs (4 or 5 of the arizona jigs being used on a dozen arrows to save time) opens up an opportunity for inconsistency arrow to arrow. It's not sensical to save time at this step when using superglue anyway. Aligning each fletch on each arrow exactly alike is your best opportunity at having repeatable downrange accuracy.

Have you guys used the Bohning Cauldron jig? Seemed like a one stop option that can handle multiple fletching choices (straight, R or L helical, and multiple degree offset)

Tim try the Easy Vanes buddy. You can order them and don't have to mess with fletchings and glue and all that stuff. Plus you have extras you can just slip on in the field if you tear a vane. Use my code for 10% off. "10% + 2 Free vanes".
