Come along while I make my very first Hot Process soap! I'm using a thieve type blend of essential oils, and color swirling with Australian Red Reef clay. #hotprocess #hotprocesssoap #soaprecipe
This video was inspired by Holly with Missouri River Soap. Here is a link to her video: • Making Hot Process Soa...
Modern Soapmaking Hot Process Tutorial:
www.modernsoapmaking.com/hot-...
Lovin' Soap Hot Process Tutorial:
www.lovinsoap.com/2016/11/flu...
I've tweeked and customized this recipe to make it my own:
12 oz Coconut oil
6 oz Sustainable Palm
4 oz Cocoa Butter
2 oz Shea Butter
6 oz Castor oil
15 oz Olive oil
15 oz Rice Bran oil
8.2 oz Lye
21 oz distilled water
3 T Yogurt
1 oz unrefined Hempseed oil (for super fat)
Additives - tussah silk, 4 tsp sodium lactate, 1 T cane sugar, essential oil blend.
I love to create good for you, handcrafted soaps using the cold process method of soap making.
This video is intended for entertainment purposes. Any opinions or statements made are just my own, I'm not a health professional. I'm simply an artisan soap maker, inviting you to come along on my journey.

I'm SO glad to see you doing HP soap. I love making it. While it has benefits, it also has challenges and you NAILED it, my friend. Please do more! I've also found (so has the soapqueen) that adding sodium lactate at then END of the cook helps with fluidity. I also keep the "bad boy" fragrances for hot process because acceleration, seizing and ricing are not problems with HP soap. Further, you will never have glycerine rivers or soda ash with HP soap. Awesome job, soapy sister!

It is true, the soapers are fantastic and supportive. I just started making soap this June and have dabbled in hot process a bit, but mostly I've done cold process and they are both so fun! Congrats on your first hp, it turned out beautiful! I've watched a few videos with stick blender hp that doesn't need a heat source! Yes, I shall be trying that too! Thanks for sharing your soap making, they are all beautiful.

Hi Ellen, I just wanted to make a note that if you decide to make HP soap a lot, I've found this solution to be a better judge of PH. 1% Phenolphthalein. You can purchase it from Amazon and what you do is take a tiny bit of the batter and put one drop directly onto the soap. If it changes color AT ALL you know the ph is off. The strips are great but this "In My Opinion" is better. Just wanted to let you know what I've found. Again, Beautifully done, it looks amazing.

Awesome Job! I've been making hot process soap for over a decade. I've made some beauties and plenty of disasters. One of the many benefits of hp is that you can use less fragrance because the lye is cooked out before adding them to the batch. I use the oven at a low temperature. My wife and I both Love this! Thank you!

I am still brand new to soapmaking. I love working with Cole process and bringing in some elements of melt and pour for size and the one thing that always amazes me because to me it’s like magic is when the oils are blended together and if you don’t color them they have a certain hue .... Whether it’s a little on the green side or a little on the yellowish side and when you’re doing hot process I always think it looks like applesauce but then 24 hours later he got white soap! Chemistry and magic I love it. And the soap came out beautiful! I can only hope and pray that my First attempt at things come out it’s successfully as this did ❤️❤️❤️

You did a beautiful job making your first batch of HP soap. I started off making HP, and I prefer the rustic look. I also like the fact that the scents don’t fade like I’ve experienced with CP soaps. I truly enjoy watching your videos. I got interested in soaping about 8 years ago. I did a lot of research before diving into it. I was so afraid to work with lye, so I started off with melt and pour. Once I felt comfortable enough, I started making HP, and then CP. I love the soaping community. Everyone is very nice, and always eager to answer your questions. :)

Ellen Ruth Soap I don’t any of the materials needed, except my collection of essential oils. But watching this does make me feel like I might be able to handle it someday.
