As Always, I enjoy watching and intending to you. I’m going to give this recipe a go. I have a small farm and between caring for animals and machinery, I sometimes ned a good scrubby soap. Thanks for sharing!

QUESTION ❓ Does lye have to be used in SOAP making ❓❓❓❓❓❓
@EllenRuthSoap13 сағат бұрын
Yes, all solid soap is made with sodium hydroxide.

I omitted to say 100% liquid coconut oil soap 😁
@lizsteyn566220 сағат бұрын
Hello Ellen, This is going to be my first try at a laundry soap. My thinking is to make a 100% coconut oil soap to substitute for the bar soap. Would it follow that I would also use 114 gr of liquid soap then? Looking forward to your response.
@EllenRuthSoap18 сағат бұрын
I’m not clear on the question?
@lizsteyn566217 сағат бұрын
@@EllenRuthSoap i'd like to replace the grated coconut bar soap with liquid coconut soap. Apologies for the confusion.
@EllenRuthSoap16 сағат бұрын
@@lizsteyn5662 I'm not sure how a liquid soap would work with the dry powders?? I suggest a very small test batch and see how you like the finish.

Love all the information given. Why is there so many recipes out there? Isnt it okay to use one recipe for different additives? And what determines whether to use a 5% discount or an 8% discount? Thank you for your precious time.

A lot of it comes down to personal preference, accessibility to ingredients, and skin sensitivities…

Hello Ellen! I love all of your videos! I was wondering if you could tell me something about the OnlineLabels labels. Is there something that is supposed to tell me what part is the "top" of the page? For example with the lip balm labels, I put it in one direction with the cap tabs facing the top of the page as it shows in Maestro but then it printed way off, but when I flipped the page around and printed again, with the tabs facing the bottom of the page, it printed correctly.

Dearest Ellen, please do continue your channel. I love your heart. I learn so much. I'm so glad to hear your hubby is well. I'm going through a lot myself right now. I was injured loading my truck. I just had surgery. I'm a new soaper. I opened my soap shop 2 months ago. It's all I have right now. I'm trying to build quickly as I may not be able to be a trucker again. I am blessed though. I'm 60 with 11 gorgeous grandchildren. I fell in love with making soap and I'm hoping to make a living at it and thanks to you and many other generous soapers I have a new hope. Thank you Ellen. God bless you.

At 58, you look amazing! I'm 50 and I feel like I look much older than you do 😅 Anyway, I agree about what you said about the ingredients. I gift my soaps too and one of my mom's friends had a licorice and papain allergy that I didn't know about until she read my labels. On one bar I used licorice extract, and on another I used papaya extract. I wasn't sure if the properties of those extracts would survive saponification and intended for them to be just label appeal. So she read the labels and apologized that she can't use those bars because of the licorice and the papain in the papaya extract. I suppose it's ok not to include ingredients if it were just the oils in there? But the additives I guess are important cause someone might have an allergic reaction to them...
