This song was so helpful in my life. I'm still in elementrary school, but I have major trust issues because my dad wasn't a good person to me and my siblings and every year in my school I was in a group of friends, but by the end of the school year they would always talk behind my back and leave me alone. Ever since then I still don't feel like having friends and I for sure don't trust people, but because of school projects and group work I have to talk with people and get along with them. I don't ever think there will be a time that I would be able to fully trust people again.

This is a song that I can relate to because I've made a lot of mistakes and it's kind of how my inner voice talks to me, but of course, she's much more harsh than Ellie. This song helped me a lot, my "friends" just started talking about me behind my back and it hurt me so much. when i finally confronted them on it the said, and i remember it like it was a minute ago " leave us alone you ugly freak show" I felt stabbed in my heart at was horrible i just didn't want to be near those girls, I'll use their nicknames, they probably don't remember them any more. they were Vane, Ale, and Mellie. I've had walls over me after that moment, i have no friends in the real world now but i don't care. i have tons of book friends ( characters in books i have grown close to and can relate in many ways ) and i didn't bother me when no one would sit with me at school, or sit near me in class or have a locker near me because i had space that i cherished all year, until my mom forced me to have friends and told the principal and now she makes people be near me 😑😧😡 i hate it, i don't really like human contact, animals and books i was happy with, but hearing this song makes me feel like a weight is lifted from my shoulders and i know they made a big mistake leaving me behind, because now, i get better grades in college than they ever could, i get A+ and they get D and F. well if you read this far thank you for putting up with me and my blabbering and i really appreciate it! This song was a heartbreak for me. It felt more like an accusation. What had I done wrong ? I was drinking my my boyfriend at the time, maybe five years ago, when Lights first came out. I was with his family and blacked out, picnicked and really in a bad place. I asked him to hold me, keep talking to me that night. The next day, I'm driving home and he's with me. He asks, what the fuck is wrong with you? What was that? You shouldn't have gotten drunk with us because you knew you couldn't keep up. I just wanted to fit in with his family. My mistake was believing after that the whole debacle was my fault. I heard this song after and was devastated. I wanted to do anything to fix that night. To get him back. I almost loved him. Now it's alright. I haven't talked to him in a while and I've moved on to better things. But it hurt so much. This song will never feel like that again.
