"Real" therapy isn't going to do anything for your child if they are transgender. Gender dysphoria is a real condition and is extremely uncomfortable to deal with, this piled with the lack of sympathy or understanding of the trans people is the reason why many trans people, including trans kids, kill themselves. The only option is gender affirmative care and this isn't always a surgical procedure; it can be changing one's name and pronouns, changing the gender on your ID/driver's license, to even taking hormones or havung surgical procedures. If you're child does turn out to be transgender, they still are and always will be your child. Don't force them into unhelpful therapy programs, don't try to change them, don't abandon them. Do what makes them comfortable and happy.

Please do any research on the topic of gender dysphoria and transgender people’s mental health improving with gender affirming care and you’ll learn a lot about the people you seem to think you know so much about. There is so much that goes into gender affirming care for youth, it’s not a simple “oh I think I’m this gender now so I’m gonna get this serious surgery and regret it when I’m older” if you did any research you’d know it’s WAY more than that. Nobody is pushing this onto children, the goal is to help kids understand themselves and what they need at an early age so they can figure out who they are as they develop. 1. There’s a lot of painstaking research and appointments with doctors and health professionals especially with trans youth to figure out if they’re truly trans, transitions do not happen over night. 2. Being trans isn’t trendy, it’s difficult, confusing and scary but as time goes on and society progresses the easier it will and should be for trans people to exist and get the care they need. 3. This kind of talk directed at trans people just makes things worse and dehumanizes them, please stop.

Cool, we had to taint a whole generation just for a handful of people to learn the hard way what we have been teaching for thousands of years, DON'T MAKE PERMANENT LIFE CHANGING DECISIONS BASED ON FLEETING EMOTIONS AND DESIRES... DUH? Don't let children idolise people paid to act like someone they are not, Don't try to be someone who doesn't even know who they are.

It seems like he’s still sad in this. Idk how long ago this video was released/ the interview was released, but I hope that Elliot is much happier now with his transition :D Edit: To the many people saying “Oh he was better as girl,” or “he looked better as a girl,” it doesn’t matter what you think about what he looked better as, it matters that he feels comfortable in his own body, not what some random people on the internet and/or that watch his work say.

Why is everyone here so transphobic. Some have some good points, that he has been gone through trauma and doesn't be a woman. Fair, but that isn't a reason to not respect his decision of transitioning

I used to feel so dysphoric in my teenage years. I even thought I was a guy. Gladly i grew up in a country where this is stupid and forbidden. Now i am so happy with my body and femininity. God gave us our bodies and he knows best what is good for us. Also, when i was behaving like a guy i was sadder than when i accepted my femininity.

Self realization is understanding yourself and accepting it, not changing yourself to what you think is your ideal self. This person is gonna be stuck in that loop of not being comfortable in they're own body until death, such a huge change for a temporary relief of experience only to be burdened with the realization she can't be the person she once was before all the medication and "surgeries".

She obviously needed to speak with someone . She got in with the wrong crowd . Its weird , looks to be ten times worse in terms of mental state now that the operation is done , which I believe tends to be the case , makes the mental state worse which is why suicides tend to happen after transition .

Elliot looks unhappy and depressed. These surgeries obviously did not bring her satisfaction and happiness. I remember when she was a young girl, she was so smiling with shining eyes. Now she/he looks frighteningly sickly and exhausted. It seems to me that the vocalist culture has broken her personality and she needs high-quality psychotherapy.

It really makes me sad how I see comments from so many transphobes, hiding behind their screens online saying transphobic things. Why can't people just have a little compassion and empathy instead of always only thinking about themselves. So depressing to think that most people only think about themselves. I'm just bitter at humanity because most people I have met arnt genuine and have hurt me in one way or another. I hate humanity so much that I only ever talk to or be around my family and my bf. That's literally it because I dont like anyone else.

I can understand both sides to be honest. I'm still trying to educate myself on the matter. First, it's science. Like you can't become a cat no matter how many surgeries you do etc. Your DNA will be the same as far as I'm aware. In this case chromosomes. On the other hand, I am not educated enough on the matter and I'm not in their place to know how it feels or if it's something you always had. It's logic or science VS people. It's confusing and complicated.
