I kinda always felt that she was homosexual, it's just because she appears "different" than other women. I don't even understand why she was hiding her sexuality for so long? What's the big deal about any kind of sexuality in Hollywood anyway? Still giving her credit that she stood up for herself, Ellen is smart, cute and funny. :) Kinda a great loss for the mens world, but a big win for the ladies. Hope they will treat her right. x)

Its not easy to come out at all. When you do, you have to deal with disapproving parents, friends, and strangers. Just think about what would happen if you came out.

I'm still giving her much credits for her speech, hell .. anybody who is coming out should get respect - big time. I'm thinking that friends (especially parents!) should always respect and accept their friends/children as they are.

That's a nice way to live Johnny, but it doesn't work in the real world often. You can tell yourself that you don't care about the opinions of strangers, but over time it just destroys you. I know that if I was gay and came out, my family and most of my friends would disown and alienate me.

She's dressing how she wants, and has more freedom to do so, having come out. If people weren't pricks about gender expression and sexual preference, it wouldn't have been an issue in the first place. The only thing that her 'dressing like a man' reminds me of is how the world would be a better place if people could be who they are without people like you putting them down for no good reason.

It makes no sense though. The female form and femininity are beautiful. Wearing men's clothes confuses the issue to the rest of the world after making it public that you are a lesbian... it isn't any more convincing that she's gay - because cross dressing intrinsically has NOTHING to do with sexual preference; you can be straight and cross dresser. Appearing on a talk show, in a suit, ONLY after she officially came out, just promotes and creates a stereotype that gay people want to be a different gender or are all cross dressers - which isn't true.

Antnj81 I think she looks damn good dressed like that! I think that a lot of women look awesome in a dress. And I think a lot of women look awkward when they try to pretend to be girly. I'm fully aware that gender expression and sexual orientation aren't the same thing. YOU'RE the one who seemed to think 'oh she's just wearing suits to remind us she's a lesbian'. I've also got to note, it's not like there aren't lesbians who don't have a 'girly' personality. If you think Ellen shouldn't dress how she wants because it's 'promoting a stereotype' for her to be a lesbian AND be a gender-bender, then you're just being ridiculous. Like, what would you suggest she do? Pretend to be girly for the sake of informing people that girly lesbians exist? (btw, I am a girly lesbian...so I wouldn't need her to tell me that) When straight women wear dresses are they 'promoting the stereotype that all straight women are feminine?' Big deal. They are dressing how they want. Why would you be confused? If Ellen is wearing a suit, why wouldn't you simply think to yourself 'Oh, I guess I was incorrect that only men express themselves like that.' ?

I actually have a guess for what it means. Hairlessness is a feature of heterosexual femininity. (Heck, one of the reasons people thought she was gay before we knew for sure was her lack of shaving certain body parts.) And so she's anxious about being out as a lesbian. If I'm right, being out means that dream will occur less often as she gets used to it.

Guys, whether you personally believe it or not, it is undeniable that our current culture pushes hair removal on women. You don't see women with hairy legs, arms, armpits, feet, or chests. And while it doesn't show up in real life all that much, women who show their vagina in public usually have it shaved or at least neatly trimmed. In movies, it's even more homogenous. The only time you see body hair is when someone is wearing a merkin. And that's to cover things up--when they want to show vaginas, they are hairless. Even if she doesn't believe it herself, she's heard it all her life. In Hollywood (and mainstream porn) women who want to be sexy to men shave everything off. That's all it takes for it to show up in her dreams. If you think I'm wrong, what do you think an overwhelmingly hairy crotch could mean?

And then she was angry about that it is possibly for modders to make her model in Beyond Two Souls shower naked in full view. I mean duh. If there is a detailed 3D model of you in a publicly available video game and teenage boys (or girls, to be fair) that like to take software apart exist, then this will happen. The only way to prevent this is not to appear in a video game. I'm surprised this is all they did with the 3D model. Well, at least it's all I know of.

Jason Mac that picture of Ellie is the final result after she was changed several times, because lots of people were saying Ellen Page was in the game and she did not approve of them using her likeness. She said she put a lot of work acting for Beyond Two Souls and for The Last of Us to use her likeness without her was unappreciated.
