Yeah but the way they sang the chorus was shitty and kinda made me chuckle! “Needle in the Hay, needle in....” they stripped the original melody of an identity! Lol But the rest of this rendition was sick.....the opening rifff pleasantly suprised me

I just discovered Elliot.. i know NOTHING about him, but i see something special. Im intrigued... i already feel a connection after just a few songs. Seeing the R.I.P in previous comments makes me sad 😥 was kind of hoping that wasnt going to be his story...

There's still a ton of stuff to go off of despite his early demise. I'm in a similar boat even though I've encountered plenty of mentions of his name through other media... with that being the ending of American Beauty, his appearance on a Modest Mouse documentary, and Phoebe Bridgers mentioning owning several copies of a 7' of his. Despite all of that I never really checked him out until recently, and I'm very glad I did. From what I've seen so far, I think my favorite show from him is his solo set at Town Hall in 2000.

Oh you will love him, listen to all his albums and work and you will see he's incapable of writing bad songs....seriously. He was like an angel, or something like one, in disguise as a human this guy, he wasn't of this world.

The setlist flows incredibly well. Especially from Amity onwards. You can see the sincerity and hear it in his voice, brilliant.

Thanks for uploading this! Passed on going to see him live back then (I think) for this tour. I kick myself now but I remember seeing flyers everywhere for the Either/Or tour and friends getting excited but i had never listened to Elliot Smith!

Been an avid listener and student of Elliott's music since '09 and imo, this is one of the best shows he ever put on. Band is phenomenal. Had a couple slight errors here and there but the energy in this concert is unmatched to a lot of his others.

That was my first thought, and I was bummed that I couldn't find more info about that performance on the internet. I don't think I'd seen any other videos of the three of them post-Heatmiser.. Turns out it's Aaron Embry on guitar + way-too-loud backup vocals. Aaron's doing the sort of mumbly backing vocals that Elliott did himself on his recordings, and they sounded better when they're more subtle... should've been an obvious sound fix.
