Thanks for watching Ryan. If memory serves me well I'm pretty sure it's a "c" or "e" clip. Same clip but Amazon calls it an "e" clip. There should be a grove cut into the shaft about where the clip would go. Hope this helps.

I don't have the machine at present so I'll see if I can go by memory. You are going to look for any place where two pieces of moving metal come together and oil. Use sewing machine oil or TriFlow. Don't use wd. The top of the machine comes off with 4 obvious screws. Whole thing lifts off. Be careful with the tabs that are used to close it and open it. Also keep an eye on the wire thread guide. Once to top is off turn the handwheel and watch. Look for mateing metal prices that are moving and a little shot of oil on each one. I would avoid putting oil on the plastic. Next go to the side panel without the controls. Might be two screws here, maybe one. Remove panel and oil as you did above. There is really not anything to oil on the other panel. As for the bottom, I don't recall so you will be on your own there. It's obvious as to where the screws are. It's pretty straight forward and you can't really screw it up. Make sure you have a small brush to get the lint out of the bottom. If you want to do a zoom call or a duo call, Google's version of FaceTime, let me know. I'll be happy to walk you through it.

Ps. Make sure you always put the selector dial on 0 when not sewing. It locks the machine plus it moves the drive wheel into a neutral position do it does no get out of round.

Thanks for your comment. I forget that people are always on the search for info although I do it most days. I checked out my machine and they are held captive, not user removable. You can gain access to most of the working without removing them. Maybe they made a change. Check out the bobbin winder when you go to pick it up. It is a custom design and if or when it breaks it could be tough to replace. Whites sewing center has all the parts you need. Website is very outdated and ordering is like mail-order from 1970s but he's the king of all Elna. If the bobbin winder is toast but it anyway and use a separate winder. Your gonna love it. It's truly a work of art.

My pleasure Marisa. Big question is ..is the light on? Is the motor moving? If yes check the rotating dial on the right side of the machine as your looking at it, just behind Elna lettering. There are three positions for this dial. One for bobbin, one for locking the machine and one for sewing. Make sure it's on the one for sewing. It's three dashes. Always make sure you put it on zero when done sewing. This locks the machine and keeps the drive wheel from getting deformed.
