Inspite of having 1major and1minor, and I worked my way through college and graduate school. Through those years I also took classes in computers, accounting,worked for a social research organization (where my boss taught at the graduate business school )I read all his books and proctor ed his tests. I in undergrad I ate school I babysat for 2 physicians d amilies-read their books and magazines. While in graduate school I worked for a PhD candidate. I paid for my graduate scool as well. I have not stopped learning. Learning about the world never ends.

@@rexcelent8560Actually I'm not smart enough to want to keep studying or learning, no one is smart enough for that because It doesn't require intelligence as a prerequisite. Everyday we learn something new, that's how people amass experience and once you stop yourself from learning you'll always find yourself behind and hindered in one way or the other. My advice to you is to never stop learning, learning is progress and stopping that is senseless arrogance because it's like saying you "don't need to know" but you do. Learn everything, how the world works, new hobbies, developing of what you know, learn people, learn behaviors, never stop because there's always a joy in doing something you couldn't do before or knowing something you didn't know before no matter your age. Questioning gives alot of meaning to life and failure adds flavour, I hope a tim comes where you won't give mental value to "grades" and care more about the information being passed than any remark a teacher or lecturer or result sheet can give you, because in the end a grading doesn't make clear that you're a success ot failure, it just makes clear how much you've learnt/grasped/understood and what you still need to learn

Learning logicality is the biggest trick I think. If you learn logicality, you unlock everything. I think every subject is intuitive. As a civil engineer, I have always incorporated logic and intuition in my work and it has never failed me.

As someone who studied engineering for the sake of getting degree, studied mba for the sake of getting better job, later cleared CFA exams for my career growth, i would say, study to learn & understand fully what you're studying , not for grades. Studying for grades can only take you so far to lead mediocre life, study to understand, you're set for life.

She specifically asked what he should study. It's ok for him to study more than one subject. She is asking a man notorious for ingenuity and she shows that she is the one limiting her son. Elon did provide a simple answer for a 14 year old. If she feels it wasn't simple enough she could have simplified it when relaying to her son: "Hi son, here is a list of what to study. Not everyone would be willing to go this hard, but then again, not everyone has your dream. What are you gonna do?..." ...No wonder {sigh...}

He doesn’t revise very much at all prior to tests but then always reassures me that he will smash his test/exams which he does.
