We love him too. Slipknot will take good care of him I’m sure. He does more than live up to the skill and talent far more than many drummers of this world. Incredible talent that is essentially the spark the 9 needs to explode. And I guarantee they will. The next album is going to be a game changer. And is probably going to be the best album they have ever done. Im saying it now. Because when a musician clicks with another after being in a state of staleness. They are reignited. I know first hand. It’s like a fire that won’t go out. And it doesn’t matter if it rains. It can’t be put out. They are gonna write and create some Amazing stuff with Eloy at the backbone. And I’m grateful he decided to take that path. I have been a Slipknot fan since 99. So I remember the fury and aggression they brought to music. The passion and aggression. And fire. Was like nothing we had ever experienced. It’s coming back. And it’s all thanks to him. Also having a heart of gold as he does, speaks volumes. Those with the biggest hearts have the most passion. This coming from an empath. 😂I know believe me I know.

Eloy played in Sepultura for 13 years, recorded albums with them, played hundreads of shows, appeared in Dumeo, Modern Dumer, won several prizes, etc, but ‘metal fans’ know him because he was mentioned by Estepario Siberiano. Oh boy, what a time…

I'm a Bass player. That plays .... other genres than what Mr Eloy is in, put it that way :D I found out about him from 66Samus ( OH YERR! ). :) It doesn't matter how you learn of someone, just that when you do, you pass on the good vibes. This guy is a monster.

Amazing! - Eloy started studying alone at the age of 7, and at the age of 8 he won his first professional drum kit and started classes. The first teacher was Lenilson, focusing on Brazilian music, such as Samba and Pagode. Black Sabbath was the sound that introduced him to Rock. Metal entered his life with Aquiles Priester (former Hangar, Angra). At the age of 15 he started playing with André Mattos (former Angra, Shaman) his first experience in a band and the rest is history!

He was definitely rolling and smoking Jay, and Jay’s a damn good drummer but Eloy at that age and early Slipknot Joey look VERY similar !! I always remember Joey doing the windmill headbanging while drumming like a mofo !! That shit was so sic, his energy & style were unmatched and I’m sure at some point Eloy looked up to Joey and was wowed by him like everyone else. Just like Joey would’ve been wowed by drummers he heard and seen as a kid. Pretty sure Joey started around the age of 8 and let’s not forget Joey also learned to play the guitar, and played guitar for the Murder dolls. I will say this…Eloy is exactly who Slipknot needed !! He is the best Slipknot drummer since Joey, maybe even better ? But there’s only one Slipknot GOAT and that’ll always in my eyes at least be #1 Nathan Jonas “Joey” Jordison !! R.I.P. legend !!

There is a lot of his content on the internet from when he was a kid. I'm Brazilian and I've seen him several times on TV shows, he's truly a prodigy. At 16yo he was already traveling the world playing professionally, at 20yo he joined Sepultura.

I was there. He surprised us. I don’t remember which drummer followed Eloy’s performance, but I think whoever it was came out and said something about how daunting it was to play after Eloy. It was a while ago. My memory ain’t what it used to be.

Matt could handle a wider range of styles for certain. But its impossible to be the best in all styles. Being a "specialist" is to be respected.

I was going to suggest this video last time, and i usually pair it with his 2019 solo of Brazilian sounds at the Moscow Drum Festival... the solo he does there shows the insane range this dude has. he was already in sepultura yet there he was doing the most insane samba rhythms at this show "eloy casagrande Solo of the Brazilian rhythms Drummers United 2019 Moscow"

@@timpricedrums guys - I’m still waiting for some names. Here is why….and ur not going to like it - metal drummers rely on speed. When slowed to snails pace the parts are not overly complicated. Fusion, jazz, etc are on a different complexity level. I can give you some examples if you would like. Bottom line IMHO - metal drummers are great but there is fire to being the best besides speed. The real genius is creating something SO complicated it is hard at 10 BPM.

For some reason he reminds me of Dave Weckl. Remember seeing Dave years ago doing a Buddy Rich tribute thing with Steve Gadd and Vinnie Calaiuta...Eloy kind of had that vibe. At that time I'd say Dave was older (and way more mature as a drummer)...but Eloy has monster chops. No doubt about it.
