Talking about the placements, I have some disagreements, the main one being Latin Spanish. Great video! Professionel and understandable comments and I think I agree with most of them. The only thing where I have to disagree is with Willemijn Verkaik. I prefer her German somehow over her Dutch just because I think it's more connected to Elsa and it sounds like it was easier for her to sing the German lyrics even though she's Dutch... 😂 But at the end of the day I love both of her versions and I'm glad that she was also casted for the German singing parts.

This must have taken so much time and effort in order to rank everyone. Big kudos to you! I agree with most of your list, although I find that most of the ones that I disagree with come from personal bias, haha! I’m learning Japanese, and I absolutely love using the Japanese dubs to practice ( when I’m feeling a little lazy ) so Takako is definitely in my top 10, but this list was pretty fair to me! I’ve listened to almost all of the versions, and it wasn’t until I read your descriptions that I realized that some of them are spot on with the way they sing :)

I struggle to rank performers so I always enjoy seeing other people’s rankings. For many of the ones I dislike I find it is the tones of the voice that put them low for me. I agree with your opinion of Idina, I recently watch some of the sequel again and find she almost sounds completely different (I know it could also be that her voice has aged), she sounds more like some of her musical performances than the original Elsa dub which makes me understand why my mum said she sounded different in the two movies. I love that you put Italian in top 10, when they released the original dvd in uk I was so happy to finally listen to Serena’s dub and I was even more excited when the sequel dvd was released because I could finally watch the Italian version of it. I found the danish dub weird at first but it has definitely grown on me and as I have begun to understand the language more my opinion has definitely changed and I now understand why so many people put her at number 1.

Anna posting a full ranking :0 This was like really interesting to watch because I had absolutely no clue about your tastes in Elsa's voices, except I instantly knew who your #1 would be and I wasn't wrong. I really love a lot of the voices in your top 20, though there are a few I would keep far away from it. I loved these little metaphors you used to describe some voices, like how you described Sia. My top 5: French, Danish, Sami, Thai or Vietnamese, German. (for the way to long explanation see below) I must say I really enjoyed the video. It was quiet interesting to see/hear a ranking mainly based on the performance of the singer and not the language itself. I wouldn't be able to do that. Every ranking of Elsa I may crate would be highly influenced by the language itself and therefore... is even more a personal opinion. You often mentioned to kinda like "rough and authentic" but rough doesn't fit for me in Frozen. I'm sure it would love it in dark, epic settings. But that may be also caused a bit by my nativ language, german. German itself is often discriped as a kinda harsh and strict language (And that's true) and it is thought that people speaking such "hard sounding" languages often prefer softer and more melodic languages in songs or poems etc. When it comes to Frozen and me that's absolutely true!! Considering this my personal ranking differs hugely for most of the balcan and Cyrillic version cause the performance of the actors just can't outperforme my bias towards the languages itself. The East Asian versions suffer under an different problem. All of the chinese, japanese, corean versions are feeling kinda dedatched from the things I know and that's also true for most of the voices, through I must admit that I enjoyed one of the mandarin versions. An I guess only German thing is that we have trubble putting Dutch into an serious and deeple emotional context. It's relatively high in your ranking and I tryed to understand it but... Dutch and German are very alike, making it possible to sometimes understand it even if you've never learned it. The problem with this is that Dutch often sound kinda funny and childish to german ears. I guess I should give an Exemplar. The Dutch word ,,versnellingshendel" meaning something like gearshift sounds to us as ,,go faster lever" or ,,bromfiets" meaning moped with ,,fiets" meaning bicycle ends up as "Brumm" making bicycle in German, while "Brumm" is supposed to be the sound of something like a car... Considering all of that only the American, South East Asian as well as the South and Central European laguages are having a chance. And here I often agree with you. For example putting the Spanish version or Portuguese to lower ranks. But I've problems to understand what you mean by arrogant and therefor youre ranking of the French versions. In my opinion both of them are in my top 5 even above the Italian. At this point I want to mention the think that clearly wasn't expecting in your ranking and that's the German dub itself! Ironically I've never ever watched Frozen 2 in german. Cause of the extremely disappointing adaptations in the first movie especially the version of "Let it go". Besides the fact that lyrics were bad the song itself sounded a bit like a "Schlager" (some strange kind of German hit or pop song). BUT at least this one scene of the second film truly was outstanding and therefor also earned a place in my top 5. Another one of my top five would consist of this one south east asian version. I forgot which of them... maybe Thai or vietnamese? Ok, what's left? Of course the nordic version and yes Danish is wow! The Samen on the other hand just amazed me! So... My top 5 in Order? 5. German. It truly has fought but for me it can't keep up with my other favorites. 4. Thai or vietnamese While I forgot which one exactly I still remember that I really like it. But only enough to be slighly in front of the german one. 3. Sami Reaching with an quite lead my top 3 and that's where I start struggling. It's everything except perfect to judge based on the few Second of this video. So I listened to let it go and show yourself versions of this top 3. That turned out to be a good idea, cause it made me certain that the sami is losing some ground during the other parts of the song and therefore falls back to the third place. 2. Danish & 1. French Finally my decision for the first place and while I'm certain that I'm only writing this for myself now, cause no one will ever reach this part of my way to long comment, I want to explain it anyway. It was a hard choise so, but je te Chercher and her performance is my absolut favorite! While the Danish version is sometimes slightly better in the more forcefully parts, the version francaise totally wins in the softer and calmer parts and totally nailing everything with the rien ne meurt! Yeah, so much about that... Guess I should move my final ranking to the next one top of this comment so that someone might see it sometime 😅

After listening to this I must admit - I LOVED the Czech version, and the Cantonese (Frozen) one really struck a chord in me, as did the Dutch! The Greek dub also stood out. But my favourite was without doubt the Italian.

Even with those who are lowly ranked, I think these are all stunning singers! Perhaps not quite the style they're all used to overall, but these are skilled and lovely voices nonetheless.

Our top 10 is literally exactly the same! Thank you for doing this! ETA - I love that you gave Ukrainian some love, because I don't see a lot of it! There's a lot of pushback for her deep and rough voice, but that's what I like about her, and I think that's what gives her a great performance of Elsa. She's one of my favorites!

Wow I have mixed feelings while watching this but never mind! I used to feel that Danish is meh but when she drops her ‘crack’ bombs in Frozen 2, instantly she is on my top 10! Honestly I was quite shocked to see Anais so low on your list, to be honest I'm kinda glad, this was eye opening to me, truly. When I read that she was acting like a Diva, I couldn't help but admit it was true. Even though I'm a native, and was a kid who adored her rendition of the role, this is true. Yet, Charlotte's take is good and worthy, but I think that isn't better thant Anais's in the ay I think that Anais's voice is more fitting, the tone and attitude (outside the songs) is better, there's really that sense of forced regalness, fear and I do believe that a native "knows more" ad every language have their own register and cultural ways to express emotions etc. Anais's voice to me is a better fit overall. And you can tell, from what I gathered, I'm not the only one that Anais's voice, the voice, not the perfomance, was more fitting. There was this feeling of stiffled freedom in her take, that young woman whom ascended to a throne too soon, who was lost and whom had demonised herself and felt guilty for everything. I think you can tell that Anais is way better in the reprise of FTFTIFr, she sounds genuine and human... And now, LIT, in french is kinda ruined to be honest, it doesn't help that her pitch was raised in the movie... Now I am filled with regret as I feel if she had let go of Idina's take and had taken a less "Performance for performance" take, she would be even better. Her let it go take always felt like "a guilty happiness". That charlotte's probably couldn't have done as well. What is sad, is that the tone of Frozen 2 sees Elsa speak more, and gives her more situation where I know Anais would have shined more. Anais I believe is really smart when she voices, I'm most confident you she would have made Elsa go from "Guilty happy" (which was Elsa's tone in Frozen 1 fot the french dub) to a more open and happy character. I don't really know if she'd have toned down the diva aspect in her singing... Knowing her, I beleived that because of thd themes of Frozen 2, they would at least had been reduced, and if the was to sing happily, her emotions would take over the need for power and performance, or better, perhaps she would have been able to even mix the two evenly...? I do think that the natural regalness, softness, tenderness in her voice would have been probably better than Charlotte's take in Frozen 2, as I believe Anais's voice is a better fit that Charlotte's

so... it's been years since i was into frozen multilinguage videos and even frozen 2 release couldn't make me interested in them again, but i watched your video from start to end and enjoyed every second of it. i love the elegant (?) way you explain your preferences for certain voices, me as non native english speaker could never, haha. there are some new voices i haven't heard yet but i don't think they affect my own ranking that much. i mostly agree with you, especially with the highest spots, they are indeed powerful and i always enjoyed their performances. russian though... i can't say i liked her singing or acting skills that much in the first movie since it seemed like she didn't fit the elsa character? i don't know, but in the sequel she shined in the new way for me. maybe it's just a native speaker's view on things or maybe elsa herself matured a lot and mature anna's voice suddenly became valid? hard to say. anyway, i really respect you and your opinion. thank you for the this video and all the video you've made before.

we actually agree with some of the more unpopular opinions (notably serbian, i wouldnt put her that low but she is not a dear favorite of mine either). i definitely agree with taiwanese (shennio), russian, castilian/catalan, bulgarian, kazakh (frozen 2), cantonese (jobelle), and willemijn (both dubs). i will have to respectfully disagree with your placements of indonesian, french (both dubs), european portuguese, swedish, arabic and danish but hey, as you said, it's okay to disagree! im sure you'd disagree with my ranking (if i ever made one because damn they're a lot of work) and that's fine, hahaha. this editing is gorgeous! i love how with every one of your comments you found something positive to focus on with each voice while respectfully pointing out the negatives. you honestly nailed it with this one. excellent ranking!!

Is it just me or is Vietnamese (from Frozen 1) underrated. I feel like it’s common to place her low in rankings, but for me it’s one of the best.

Innanzitutto complimenti, un ranking di più di 50 voci non è affatto un'impresa facile. Comunque, siamo d'accordo su quasi ogni voce. Taryn e Carmen (bravissime cantanti ma che non c'entrano nulla con Elsa) e Lisa (mi dispiace ma invece la sua voce non mi piace proprio, per me finirebbe dritta all'ultimo posto) sono le scelte più sbagliate che si possano fare per il personaggio. Oddio Anna così bassa non me la aspettavo proprio, io la amo, sembra un misto di Serena e Annika, io l'avrei messa in top 5. La voce di Anaïs a me invece piace tantissimo, però sì Charlotte, nonostante abbia un timbro quasi identico al suo, canta ogni canzone in modo più personale e ha un atteggiamento molto più "semplice" diciamo, ma come hai detto per Jobelle (altra voce stupenda) la semplicità spesso è migliore di una qualsiasi voce da diva alla Celine Dion che però canta senza capire cosa provi un personaggio, quindi Charlotte per me sale nella top 10 o addirittura top 5. Per quanto riguarda Idina io la trovo molto brava e è riuscita a entrare nel personaggio, soprattutto in Let It Go, l'unica cosa che mi fa storcere il naso è che quando ha doppiato il primo film aveva già superato i 40 anni, ora ne ha quasi 50, quindi magari si sarebbe potuta scegliere una voce più giovane, MA la adoro comunque. Takako Matsu la metterei molto più in alto, la sua voce ha qualcosa di particolare e diverso da molte voci giapponesi e ci sta benissimo su Elsa. Totalmente d'accordo su Nataša. Sophy Wong per me invece è molto espressiva, ha compreso i sentimenti di Elsa e li ha resi suoi. Gam penso che le darei un posto molto mooolto più basso, proprio non mi piace. Marianne vabbè è bravissima, niente da aggiungere a quello che hai detto tu - mamma mia Frozen l'anno scorso doveva avere un doppiaggio in Sami ma la Disney non l'ha approvato 🤬- Amo il tuo commento di Sía, è fra le mie Else preferite❤ Willemijn forse riesce a trasmettere più emozioni nella versione olandese ma ha una voce migliore quando canta in tedesco (non so se ha senso hahaha), però in generale la amo. La nostra Serena è bravissima, forse un po' troppo matura, ma ci si passa sopra assolutamente. Hye-Na è sicuramente nella mia top 5, trasmette certe emozioni, ha capito a fondo il personaggio di Elsa. Annika per me sta al secondo posto, la sua voce cristallina è particolarissima, ma il primo posto Maria Lucia se lo merita a mani basse: è perfetta nel primo film e incredibilmente nel sequel si è superata, è stupenda, davvero non riuscirei a pensare a una voce migliore della sua, lei È Elsa! Comunque, potresti postare una traduzione di Dopo Il Fiume Cosa C'è in islandese appena hai tempo?

If you understand the meaning of chinese word , you will find that China's version would be worse than Taiwan and Hong Kong. Because I think Taiwan's and Hong Kong's lyrics both have the original meaning (compared with English version) and beautiful words . Besides, Taiwan's lyrics has the same rhythm with the original version . So if you watch the movie , you won't find that the animation and lyrics are inconsistent---->consider the naturalness. However , those two songers' voice in Taiwan are too sweet to express like the Queen. But in the other hands, perhaps the children would like these sweet voice more than the mature voice.

Wow i'm so shocked by that 1st place. 😜Not. hahhahha I have the same opinion. Maria owns this. Wow, all the people I have strong opinions about we hold in similar regard. Cough cough Taryn, Lisa, and Carmen on the lower places. Especially Carmen, every time I listen to her recordings it's too thin for my idea of Elsa and I worry if she's gonna hit the note. I totally agree with your assessment of pop singers like Gam and Gisela. It's performative, it feels detached from the character. I love listening to them on their own but as part of a greater story, it doesn't quite fit. Thank you for the kind words about Hye-Na, Willemijn, and Wei Na!! :D As for Willemijn in German, I have a similar feeling. Though to me the rigidness in the first movie is more because she's trying so hard to sound like Idina and a typical Disney character. Her larynx is sky-high, so much so I thought it was pitched at first. I do love how much more like herself she sounded in Frozen 2 in either language and because of that she was really able to shine. : ))

Im probably biased because im dutch. but i think the dutch singer perfectly got Indina's original voice, without falling in to becoming too theatrical/show off. Her voice just... fits Elsa

Thank you for the 18th. By the way, I feel pain when Shennio Lin was put lower because she's my number one :P However, I agree with you about comment on Cài Yǒng-Chún. In my thought, her best performance would be Nala 2019. Her Speechless is quite disappointed, but she's a bit better here.
