About 10 years ago my friend showed me a song by this band and I absolutely loved it. It's called Inis Mona, I just went and watched the music video of it, I completely forgot that it has bagpipes in it!

Original lead singer and Hurdy-gurdy player was Anna Murphy. She formed a new band Cellar Darling. Check out the track Black Moon where she plays a Hurdy-gurdy solo.

Also, the hurdy-gurdy is the thing with a crank. Think of it as a.. sort of a mechanical violin I guess?
@zildjian4life4334 жыл бұрын
Yes, you turn a crank to produce the sound, like dragging a bow across a violin, then press keys to make different notes. Crazy but incredible instrument.

Jase N Yo Face also, while I have your ear, two other bands are associated with Eluveitie. Cellar Darling is 3 former members. ILLUMISHADE is a side-project by their current female vocalist, Fabienne.

Great reaction! I don't know if you put it intentionally, but the picture of hurdy-gurdy comes from Michalina's store (the girl which plays the hurdy-gurdy in Eluveitie). If you want to see clearly how she is playing, check out her channel (Michalina Malisz), she did some Eluveitie's songs playthroughs and some great covers.

I suggest you check out their cover of Powerwolf's song, IRA SANCTI (they sing it in the reconstructed form of the Gaulish language). Whilst we're at it, you might also want to react to Powerwolf themselves, I suggest WE DRINK YOUR BLOOD and KILLERS WITH A CROSS for a start. Another one definitely worth checking is Sabaton - so many songs, hard to pick, but maybe: 40-1 (live at woodstock 2012). I promise you won't regret it! :)

Hurdy-gurdy: a bit like a violin, but with extra strings & played with an internal wheel (thus the crank) instead of an external bow. Also noted a mandolin (I think), a harp, & a hand drum. Still hasn't changed my opinion of "metal."
