I saw Elvis that year, 1981 and it was a blast, Squeeze opened up for him and it was my most memorable concert of hundreds!

If my memory serves correct, I believe Tom Snyder was nervous interviewing EC at this time because his interview with Johnny Rotten the year before had been a disaster, and he wasn't sure what to expect from another edgy rock star. But Elvis surprised him with his intelligence and respect. You can almost see Snyder's sense of relief as the interview progresses and he realizes Elvis is responding reasonably. Also, the music is great!

Dan Gottlieb Snyder looked like he was about to kill Johnny Rotten. Rotten was a huge asshole.

Wow funny looking at the information on this video I'm noticing that this interview was performed on the day I was born 2/3/81. Hard to imagine Elvis costello as an outlaw today as tom snyder impresses on the audience at this time. I guess 30 years of relevancy will strip away those feelings after a while. Now one can look back at an amazing career and body of work. Ive always felt that Elvis possessed a certain vertiousity (sp)?
