Lovely sweet lady, who adored Elvis, such an innocent relationship they had together, but sadly their lives went in totally different directions. She still speaks so fondly of their time together, the letters she wrote to him are in her book they are just so sweet. Lovely interview thanks.

Enjoyed listening to this well mannered southern lady tell of her past. I hope she talks more about the connection between Elvis and Gladys. Dixie, if you read this, I am so happy for you that you got time to spend with the Presley family. So blessed you are to have those memories! God Bless and thank you for sharing your time with Elvis with us fans.

Another great piece of the Elvis puzzle SG. I get a kick out of Dixie speaking of Elvis,even though she has been married to someone else most of her adult life(I think) she still sees Elvis as #1 love . I have noticed in interviews with Ginger Alden,she is same way,even though ended up married to someone else after Elvis,she always gets a twinkle in her eyes when she speaks about her times with Elvis. Elvis' charisma prevails,,bottom line. Sorry for long comment. Thanks again.

Wonderful interview. The baptism story was interesting because I'm assuming they were baptised later. I was baptised as a baby. I would have loved to have seen Elvis getting into it at the black church. Elvis had so much rhythm and soul but I don't think I have to tell you that. Thanks..... and I'm looking forward to the next two installments.

Just think if EP had married this sweet, Christian woman, how different his life might have been. Maybe The LORD spared her of EP's infidelities. Hopefully with her he would have been faithful. Only God knows and He works all things out for good for them that love Him and are called according to His purposes. God knows all, and knows what He is doing. I am so glad to hear that EP was baptized and a true believer. Unbelievable fame and riches took their toll on him, but God knows and keeps His own. In my heart I always felt that Elvis was a believer, gone a bit astray, but with a good and loving heart.

And Jean Juanico ( i may have spelled her name wrong)
@dougdickason
@dougdickason 4 жыл бұрын
@@ballantine58 June was her first name, and I know her book tells of love, and I'm sure Elvis had love for her, but I think their relationship was more of a summer romance than a serious relationship. They didn't even live close to each other. I'm not saying they didn't have real, strong feelings, but I wouldn't put that relationship in same category with Anita Wood, Ann Margaret. I'm not sure it's even in same category with Dixie Locke. I think I may put it equal with Joyce Bova, in that it was serious when they were together but weren't together that much. If you know different, I'm not too stubborn to be convinced otherwise...
@anY-bf9ud
@anY-bf9ud 2 жыл бұрын
@@dougdickason Doug, June's book is as heart warming as it is heartbreaking. She certainly knew him at the bedt time in his life , before fame ate him up and spat him out. They truely loved each , his master sorry manager , made sure nothing come of it though. The storys June tells are quite eye opening, she saw where Elvis was heading even then, sadly.

@dougdickason 2 жыл бұрын
@@anY-bf9ud yeah, the Colonel did more to hurt Elvis and his career even, than he did to help it. Every move Colonel made was to benefit Colonel, and it may have financially benefitted Elvis too, but all of Colonels choices were short sighted and for the sure money. I think if Elvis' mother had lived, Colonel would not have lasted as Elvis' manager.
