Lyrics:
[Verse 1]
There must be lights burning brighter somewhere
Got to be birds flying higher in a sky more blue
If I can dream of a better land, where all my brothers walk hand in hand
Tell me why, oh why, oh why can't my dream come true, oh why
[Verse 2]
There must be peace and understanding sometime
Strong wind of promise that will blow away the doubt and fear
If I can dream of a warmer sun, where hope keeps shining on everyone
Tell me why, oh why, oh why won't that sun appear
[Bridge]
We're lost in a cloud with too much rain
We're trapped in a world that's troubled with pain
But as long as a man has the strength to dream
He can redeem his soul and fly (He can fly)
[Verse 3]
Deep in my heart, there's a trembling question
Still, I am sure that the answer's... answer's gonna come somehow
Out there in the dark, there's a beckoning candle, yeah
And while I can think, while I can talk, while I can stand, while I can walk
While I can dream, oh, please let my dream come true, oh, right now
[Outro]
Let it come true right now
Oh, yeah

Elvis was my dad’s absolute favourite. All his life he never changed. Elvis died on my dad’s birthday. Every year on my dad’s birthday, he would start his day by playing Elvis, and wouldn’t turn it off until the next morning. Him and Prince are my top two performers of all time. Elvis help bring Rock n' Roll to the mainstream and Prince was probably the most talented performer to ever live (between his vocal range, dancing, all the instruments he could play at a proficient level, songwriting, and producing).

@him8012
@him8012 Жыл бұрын
@@patrickfoldy8426 it's true. Prince was huge in the 80s but was overshadowed by Michael Jackson..... Mainly due to how much marketing and advertising MJ did while prince was constantly battling record companies for the rights to his music. He'd often have albums released and people wouldn't know at first due to the lack of advertising. It's a shame too because prince was a much better musician and artist than MJ. He had a wider vocal range + could play all those instruments when MJ could barely play anything

#music paroles superbes (y) : (y) "There must be lights burning brighter somewhere Il doit y avoir des lumières qui brillent plus ardemment, quelque part Got to be birds flying higher in a sky more blue Des oiseaux qui volent plus haut dans un ciel plus bleu If I can dream of a better landSi je peux rêver d'une terre meilleure Where all my brothers walk hand in hand Où tous mes frères marchent main dans la main Tell me why, oh why, oh why cant my dream come true Dis-moi pourquoi, oh pourquoi, oh pourquoi mes rêves ne peuvent pas devenir réels There must be peace and understanding sometime Il doit y avoir la paix et la compréhension, winds of promise that will blow away Des vents forts de promesse, qui balaieront All the doubt and fear Tous les doutes et la peur If I can dream of a warmer sun Si je peux rêver d'un soleil plus chaud Where hope keeps shining on everyone Où l'espoir continue de briller sur chacun Tell me why, oh why, oh why wont that sun appear Dis-moi pourquoi, oh pourquoi, oh pourquoi ce soleil ne va pas apparaître Were lost in a cloud Perdus dans les nuages With too much rain Avec trop de pluie Were trapped in a world Pris au piège dans un monde Thats troubled with pain Troublé par la douleur But as long as a man Mais tant que l'homme Has the strength to dream à la force de rêver He can redeem his soul and fly Il peut racheter son âme et s'envoler (1) Deep in my heart theres a trembling question Au fond de mon cœur, il y a une question troublante Still I am sure that the answer gonna come somehow Cependant je suis sûr que la réponse viendra un jour Out there in the dark, theres a beckoning candle Là bas dans le noir, il y a une lueur d'espoir (2) And while I can think, while I can talk Et bien que je peux penser, que je peux parler While I can stand, while I can walk que je peux me lever, que je peux marcher While I can dream, please let my dream que je peux rêver, s'il te plaît laisse mon rêve Come true, right now devenir réel, maintenant !Let it come true right now Laisse-le se réaliser à présent Oh yeah ________ (1) Nettoyer son âme, se confesser, repentir..."

All these years I knew of this performance but I didn’t know the song nor the significance of it. Thank you Baz for opening my eyes to the story of Elvis. As a black person, I was always taught to see Elvis as a thief of my culture and people but the movie (assuming it’s not fabrication) really showed me that Elvis was a beneficiary but not because he had malicious intentions but he was genuinely inspired by and honestly raised on that kind of music, so it’s the basis of his work once he got older. I don’t know if he sung this on purpose as a nod and tribute to Dr. King but if so, that just brings happiness to me. So many have lied on his name and legacy. I look forward to discovering more about this man.

Me too. I’m 43 and want to know everything about him. He was a phenomenal naturally talented soul. I’m glad the movie has put a grand spotlight back on him…i knew almost nothing about Elvis until now. I hope he’s smiling down at how he is still loved and adored.

This performance… he’s not merely signing these words, he’s making you feel them. If someone argues that Elvis wasn’t all that, send them here. He has truly reached the Rock of Eternity like he dreamed of as a kid. I’m glad the film is shining a light on this performance in particular.

This has to be one of my favorite performances from Elvis. I saw him live in June, 1972 in NYC. One of the best day of my life. My daughter and I have been to see the movie 3x. I’m 64. She’s 27. We absolutely love the movie. Austin Butler is phenomenal. Without a doubt - Oscar worthy. Elvis Presley was one of the most incredible people to walk this earth.
