AJ Ema had a reason to be so bitter, and despite that you can see her childish love for science sometimes. She had her dreams temporarily crushed at that time, so naturally she would take out her anger and stress on people

Ema is the most realistic character in the series. She starts off as a happy and energetic little kid who is very invested in one subject and wants to get a job related to that subject. Then she fails, and ends up growing up to be bitter and snarky because she couldn't get what she wanted even after she tried her best. You can see how much she hates her job as a detective every time you see her, and it made me sympathize with her. She has a very solid reason to be bitter. But after that soul-crushing failure, she stood up, and tried harder. Her time as a detective was like a motivation for her, since she really wanted a job that she likes doing. And she succeeded this time, and you see her way happier and back to her childish, energetic self. I understand why people want the character to be consistent, but you must understand that people also have their high and low points in their life, and they will react to it. Of course people will be unhappy doing something they don't like doing, and that will project itself in the occasional snarky, cynical comments.

As someone who pursued their dreams and failed miserably, I really enjoyed and identified with her in AJ:AA. That being said, I was so happy to see her achieve her goals and be so happy in this game. It gives me hope that I may realize my dreams one day as well. Her character arc, combined with the contrast between her personality in these two games is what makes her one of my favorite characters in Ace Attorney.

I'd are Apollo Justice Ema was more right as she, understandbly, grew up and reacted to the frustration of not being able to achieve her dream, plus if you don't believe in death of the author it is also the case the man who made the original Ema basically made her EXCLUSIVELY so she'd be sulky in Apollo Justice

he will probably appear in investigations 3, if it ever come out(hey, he got a raise in aai2!) but since there is a lot of characters that were introduced in aai2 and it was never released out of japan, it´s to be expectated that aai3 will be japan exclusive, if it ever comes out.
