People don’t realize how hard this is, it’s not just belting out a song, it’s projecting your voice. So at a young age it’s a lot of talent. Lots of vocal control.

Yes but as you age it gets even more difficult because not everyone is meant to be an opera singer and the voice is always changing and maturing-- typically stops maturing completely at 28ish for women. My voice at 16, though I tried so hard to sing opera was quite weak and unbalanced, and then at 21, my voice got stronger. And now at almost 34, I am a spinto soprano and it's still maturing because my voice type develops/fully matures later in life. I gave up on singing opera at 16 at the urging of someone who said I was too young, then I picked it up again at 21. From a personal perspective young people should not be singing opera. Voices constantly change and if you force operatic singing too young you can ruin your voice.

Her control is really good. Yea her voice will change but she has enough talent to adapt. In the end, vocal control has a roof but what distinguishes singers is vision. The skill to direct sound to make it appropriate and unique to your own voice no matter the situation.

"Turandot" was relatively neglected compared to Puccini's three most popular operas until Pavarotti sang this aria at the Olympic Games - I don't remember when.Pperhaps he chose it, among other reasons, because the concluding word of the Italian text means, "I shall win!"

Caroll Lafontaine well there was Jackie Evancho. There was also the little girl who won the very first season of AGT. Caroline Costa is another. There are actually a bunch. Though it could be argued the girl may be the best of them yet. !!

That's a very famous aria, actually a tenor aria, and she performed it with beautiful accuracy and feeling in her own way that made it sound as if it were written for a soprano. It makes me think she really could go on to an operatic career, if she doesn't push her voice too hard before she grows up. She's truly gifted. It's kind of shocking to hear that kind of musicianship from a 10-year-old!

Judith Walker, Julie Andrews was a child prodigy with a 5-octave vocal range and began studying classical voice at a very young age. Her voice teacher, who was also a famous opera singer in her own right, was very reluctant at first to have her sing some of the difficult operatic arias at such a young age because she could have seriously damaged her voice. They first brought her to a throat specialist at around 10 or so and was told that her throat and vocal cords were already that of a fully developed adult. Only after learning this was she permitted to begin studying and performing coloratura arias.

Usually, people don’t start operatic training until their voices are matured, so this is very impressive. You can tell her voice isn’t fully matured, as she still has to use a mic, but that is because she is young and likely doesn’t want to damage her voice. But all that aside, brava, she sounds amazing.

Singing classical well is about as difficult as it gets, this is why when its sung well people get so emotional, projecting the voice and emotion to the crowd just makes people in awe, especially in a voice so young
