Whoever thought of the idea to seamlessly transition from Aerith praying to the close up of Zack’s eyes as he lay there dying deserves a raise. Cuz that’s one of those memorable final fantasy moments.

That "Helloooo" from Aerith. Man it's hard not to drop a tear for me when i hear that. Briana White as Aerith is absolut amazing.

In the final battle, when the slots for Angeal, Cloud, & Aerith trigger, Aerith is in her prayer pose that the DMW uses - but when it fades out in the VERY end, she's in the pose Zack first saw her in when he opened his eyes in the church. Secret box contents were _perfect._

Love how powerful Zack is and how you can tell Max is pulling all the stops to try and win that final fight, hoping to prevent the inevitable.

That gag they did with the "surprise" in the box was hilarious

The amount of damage those helicopter missiles were doing was modified from the original PSP version. For CC Reunion they apparently made them do a percentage of your current or max HP, because in the PSP version you could extend that final battle a whole lot longer due to nothing being able to hurt you. This time around the devs were clearly taking into account how powerful you could be after doing the side missions.

Cloud's scream at the end is soo much better, the new VA did an amazing job

The ending still hits us hard to this day. So much passion and emotion was put into this giving us a reminder that Zack is indeed a true hero.

The last line asking if he became a hero just kills me. Had my eyes welling up so much. It really has me excited to find out what they end up doing with zack in the remake. He may be my favorite character over cloud after beating the game, zack was just such a good hearted dude and got done so dirty just for trying to do the right things.

The voice actor for Cloud nailed it in this game and the scream at the end always gets me tear up because I've lost so much in my life and that scream is so powerful, it's like the sound of my broken heart. I know what it is like to lose your best friend who pass on the other side.

The road to rebirth starts with Max getting sent a handkerchief to wipe away those tears. Damn that's actually as funny as it is sad. It is a sad ending, but they expected you to start whaling and thus they preemptively send you something for the tears. brilliant.

Cissnei is never even mentioned again in the compilation, we don't learn her real name, even in the short stories that focus on the Turks. She's not Elena. Hope they change that in Rebirth, she's an interesting character.

While some of the Voice Acting is questionable at times (the awkward dialogue doesn’t help) overall this game seems phenomenal in bringing the PSP game’s story back to a modern era. Gotta love that gift at the end lol

Pretty sure square came out and said the reason cissnei had the "not by real name" line was because they tried to directly connect this game to before crisis, and in that game the player decides on what to call her, alluding to all the turk names in canon actually being proxy names to protect their real identities, which, given the nature of their jobs, makes sense I guess

Watching this after Max finished his Rebirth playthrough. Wondering if the point of Crisis Core Reunion was more than just talking about Zack. I think it was also to tell us more about Cloud and what is happening to him. The game has two things that I think are important. First, Modeoheim is where Zack first meets Cloud and gets the Buster Sword. It’s close to Icicle Area so I think this place could show up again. Secondly, the DMW is more than a mechanic. It deals with emotions and memories. There are scenes in the DMW that are not seen anywhere else except through the DMW. In Remake and Rebirth, Cloud often sees visions of things that happened, will happen, or did not happen in the original game. Cloud is experiencing DMW but because his mind is so fragile he is overwhelmed by the experience every time it happens. Additional prediction: Sephiroth has a black wing on his right side. Genesis has a black wing on his left side. Angeal has TWO white wings on his right side… but who has the left wing? I think Cloud and Zack will each get a left wing in Remake part 3 (OR) one of them will get both left wings. /remind me 3 years

Cissnei's real name being left a mystery is most likely do to her being one of the player Turks form Before Crisis who's names are left to the player to decided.

Having played this on PSP many years ago before ever touching FF7, I wonder if what I feel for this game is what I see so many especially with the remakes feel that FF7 is to them

I had just finished the game today myself. When genesis spoke up near the end that also gave me a jump.

Max: "Makes you wonder how Zack died, right?" In my original playthrough, I spent a good 30 minutes crushing waves of Shin-Ra troops before I remembered Zack is supposed to lose that fight. 😂

One thing you didn't notice was Clouds eyes in the after credits scene. For some reason they are normal blue, not mako green. 2:34:56

I wonder if Cloud having "the last pure S-Cells in the world" (aside from Sephiroth himself) is going to be relevant going forward in the remake. Would be strange if they just forgot about it. Also, I'm curious about what president Shinra said in the remake about SOLDIER showing cellular degradation, when in Crisis Core the whole point was that only G-type SOLDIERs did. Was it a retcon, or was he just lying to get in Cloud's head? Either way Cloud should be fine, since he's technically neither type of SOLDIER, and has Sephiroth's pure non-degrading cells instead. But of course president Shinra wouldn't know that.

FF7 Crisis Core has a special place in my heart because as someone whos introduction to Final Fantasy was through the original Crisis Core. The ending of this game hit extremelly hard for me since i played CC before FF7 and because of that i did not know what the fate of Zack would end up being.

When I saw the scene with Aerith at the end I realized that since she is an ancient she knows Zack is dying and eventually dies.

Max, in Final Fantasy VII Before Crisis, The Turks are the protagonists, Cissnei's name is Shuriken, also is one of the playable characters that takes place a bit early from Crisis Core story and between, and Zack appears in Before Crisis, also in the DMW you can see some cutscenes that are related to Zack in Before Crisis. Also too, things that happens in Before Crisis you can see it on mails, things like the Vicepresident going for bussiness travels to somewhere it's just Shin-Ra covering the fact that Rufus was working alongside AVALANCHE and he went captured by The Turks, or that monsters from Hojo's laboratory escaping and covering the real events with a big dessertion of SOLDIER members, Kunsel speaking about it with Zack at the beggining in Crisis Core. Barrett, Aerith, Vincent, even Cloud and Elena appears. It's an old phone game, didn't sell too much but have curious things from the lore, and I like it... Although not all is canon because plotholes.
