Thank you so much for your educational teaching. I have a Janome 15000 sewing machine & embrilliance also. With the Janome 15000 the arm is in the throat side so I need to put towel toward the outside. I love to do your video step by step by watching it on my iPhone while I’m doing it step by step with my computer & embrilliance as I go. I need to have this extra instruction as I do it. My friend & teacher who I met on line recommended embrilliance & has been teaching me from a very far distance. I definitely am a newbie & would have given up without her help. I am so thankful for your you tube channel & teaching-bevyjean

Thank-you for this! I appreciate that you show us how to avoid the pitfalls that might not be apparent when we look at a design! (I love being "an insider"!) Also, I think this pattern would be perfect for all those little tea towels that one gets for Christmas that aren't quite the right size and keep falling on the floor 😏 when placed back on the kitchen stove towel bar--this looks like an excellent solution!😎

Great idea. I was wondering how that topper would hold up with multiple washings. I would rather not have it attached. I was thinking of editing the design and making the bottom part(back piece) a little deeper. Would that make it more sturdy?

Thank you, Becky! I learned several things from you today, and always enjoy your well-thought-out tutorials. I've used Embrilliance for a few years. Did you know that there is another way to highlight the whole design with one click? Directly under the word "Objects" the first one of the little symbols, which is grayed out while you're working with the different elements, will do that for you if you click on it. I learned the other ways from you today, and it's always good to find alternatives. Now I have a question, what needle size do your recommend for sewing through all those layers? Also, I have made the mistake of steaming the stabilizer, and it only just now occurs to me to ask if it will possibly wash out and be fixed. And why not? I'm going to try this on some little scraps just to test it, maybe without sewing the layers at all so I can see what's going on in there.

Will the embroidered part hold up to the many washings that the dishtowel will need over time? I worry that the satin stitching around the edges will eventually get tacky looking. Okay, following up on my previous post. I have steam ironed a piece of Wash and Gone stabilizer between two layers of fabric, and as expected, the stabilizer shriveled. However, much to my surprise, it did not stick to the fabric at all. The only reason it seems to do that in our projects is that it's held in place by stitches. The other wonderful news is that the shriveled stabilizer washes out every bit as well as it would have if it had not been ironed. I'm mourning projects I tossed because I thought they were ruined, but I'm happy to report that as long as the item is something you would wash anyway, it's not a lost cause! The only caution is to keep in mind that your synthetic threads can and do melt if the iron is too hot, and that's another mistake I've made, sadly, more than once.
@PowerToolsWithThread
@PowerToolsWithThread Жыл бұрын
Wash and Gone will dissipate with steam. It's the moisture that it reacts to. Pressing without steam is the way to prevent that.

You will need some type of embroidery software if you want to modify the design by adding a monogram. Or, you can import the design into your embroidery machine, add your letter from within inside the machine and place it in the correct location if you have a machine that will do that (which will add on to the end of the design sequence). You'll need to stop the design after the satin stitching around the monogram spot, forward to the monogram letter and stitch it, and then back up to the step after the satin stitching. Then be sure to stop the design after the towel has been stitched on as the final stitch.
