On this short trip we got to deliver one of the coolest holy-grail type of instruments to its new owner, a man who needs no introduction to most, Jason Momoa! We've featured this wonderful 1934 Martin D-28 on the channel before, with Tyler going into great detail about its life and how it sounds, so this is all about its final journey out of our shop. Trevor sits down with Jason for the first chords on his new guitar, chatting about his many years of history with Emerald City Guitars, the history of the guitar, and more!
For more information or to find a great instrument for you, please check out:

Mad respect to Jason for being a player and not a poser... now that he is the custodian of this historic guitar it will have a place where it will get played.... which is what guitars need. Good on you Jason!

His life does not resemble ours in the slightest.

Wann hear something funny? My coworker got back from SEMA and he told me he got damn near plowed into by Momoa as he was running and goofing off in the convention center or something. Then some twerp started squealing for an autograph literally chasing Jason Momoa, and he got bodyguarded. Just told me that this morning, ha. So even my buddy got to be a side character for a minute.

I was in Seattle on sept 30th to catch Billy Strings coming through town. I stopped in your wonderful store and after chatting with a few of the incredibly kind staff there for a few minutes they were like "hey we just got in something really special do you want to see it?" Well hell yes. They proceed to bring out this guitar and let me hold it.. which was a pretty special experience to say the least. They wouldnt tell me at the time who bought it but man I guess it was Aquaman. The previous time I was in Emerald City my wife and I got to meet Chris Stapleton before his show in Seattle as he stopped in to buy a guitar with his entourage. Needless to say stop in to Emerald City Guitars good things will happen.

Very cool fascinating story. Regarding this first D-28 Martin, which Jason Momoa recently purchased (Congrats!) The oldest D-28 Martin ever played was a 1936 model. Back in '97, at a small guitar vintage shop in San Francisco. That D-28 resonated like 61 year old guitar. Magical experience.
