Fun fact. Dre Had pretty much finished the album and Eminem came to him with this song (3 verses and chorus) And it's one of the only few times dre has to make a beat fit a flow..So credit to both Dr and slim. The real slim shady was the same.

Priority decided not to honor the original agreement and threatened to sue Dre if the Chronic trademark were to be used in any capacity. They eventually decided to release the album as simply 2001....to be correct

A lot of people don't understand the only place to watch videos then was MTV and you could not cuss show nudity or any weapon. Even any brand logo. Same as nothing but a g thing was written by snoop and kendrick wrote Compton and the recipe he's still amazing on all those tracks though. love dre and I think he's a good rapper even though he doesn't enjoy doing it. All his albums have been phenomenal except the world class wreckin cru days they where garbage but can give him a pass for discovering so much talent and making so many memorable beats one of the goats in my opinion

Maybe garbage was too strong a word as I said I just wasn't a fan especially the outfits they looked like some 70s reject earth wind and fire tribute act and in the immortal words of eazy e on the album cover he looked like a she thing. Started listening to music and watching mtv when NWA was finishing up, I've never been a huge rap fan but rap from that era was what I always associated with the genre. When I'm at the bar and some of the modern rap comes on I'm like wtf. We need dre to come back and remind us he exists again this decade to get rap back on track again.

I remember when this dropped. I was 20 when this came out. We knew as the way his shit progressed he was on his upswing then and stayed swingin'. I remember when people were in the news protesting him every day. But here's my prediction for the new Em album that's coming after Kamikaze, and it's this, we will see cause a new album iw dropping soon: " Em is going to pull out all the stops with the lyrical rappers like Logic, Joyner, Royce and everyone that's from the era that's still banging out lyrics that's going to be a straight wrecking ball to the Mumble Crap game to put em to sleep in the dirt. I think Kamikaze was the "warning shot" to say look, y'all had your time now it's time to put you to sleep!"
