I remember seeing this actual performance when it was first shown all those years ago!. I was 17. I was utterly stunned, mesmerized, hypnotized and couldn't speak for ages!!. I've seen it many times over the ensuing years and it has always had precisely the same effect, I watched this about 2 hours ago, and can only now manage to write this comment!!. ♥️🔥😋

I have a lot of respect for Debbie Harry. I reckon she had hundreds of lucrative offers to go solo and dump the band, and offers from famous actors, musicians and mega-rich business men to sump Chris, but she was faithful to her band and man. This wasn't her first band and i think she enjoyed having the right people behind her onstage. Plus she's one of the coolest chicks on the planet and a great singer and writer.

"Denise" written by Neil Levenson about childhood friend, Denise Lefrak. 1963, Randy & the Rainbows hit Top 10. In 1978, Blondie renamed it "Denis" & was #2 in UK. 2002, Dutch actress/singer Georgina Verbaan had Dutch chart hit #30. 2021, Weird Al did parody with it called "Police, Police", about George Floyd. Denis was actually first put out in 1963 performed by Randy and the Rainbows and written by Neil Levenson and Denis became a Platinum record for him when Denis became Blondie's it went #1 hit in 1978. I remember when Blondie put out 'Heart of Glass' and it was a huge hit and went #1 in the Disco era in 1978 and even outside the disco clubs that's when I heard it on the radio and bought the Parallel Lines LP and still have it and some of her other great LPS. Blondie was inducted to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1999 and has sold 40 million records. Blondie was one of the most beautiful music performers. Her later hit song Maria also went #1 in the UK. Blondie was definitely one of the most beautiful female singers. Super photogenic.

I was 23 in Montreal in the clubs back then and hearing Blondies' Heart of Glass it was awesome and so much better than the mindless disco. 1978 was back when music was much more real, more raw and less processed.
