3:52 Notably, this guy was actually known as a _very_ good surgeon at the time. See, back then, the odds of surviving surgery were actually pretty low (in part because doctors were so unsanitary that they didn't even wash the blood off of their clothes after surgeries because it was seen as a sign of experience; the stiffer your clothes were with blood, the better a doctor people thought you were). The faster the surgery, the more likely you were to survive (though the odds still weren't great). Since this guy worked so fast, he was actually one of the best surgeons in the world at the time. Basically, this event wasn't so much the surgeon's fault as it was the fault of the horrendous medical procedures of that era.

Completely unrelated, but I just watched one of my dogs jump on my bed, knock my other dog in to my cat, and my cat went flying 15 feet into the window and fell down. Funniest thing I've seen all year. In other news, happy *NICE* Day everybody!

4:16 my grandfather has this. He got it to remove his throat cancer. They remove the insides of the throat and replace it with robotics. He can not swallow mucus so he has to remove it. He has a button in that area where he presses to talk. He can not , breathe through his head. He breathes through that hole. He can not smell or taste either. It might be disgusting for many other people, but it's not that bad. Thank you for reading
