I'm a white generational very generational Appalachian North Carolinian from the Blue Ridge Mountains... listening to this woman talk just melts me and brings tears to my eyes, she sounds like a slightly black version of my mountain family who I miss so very very much, so many others in my town from the old days. It's bronze not black! Can u see well? We are falsely and derogatorily called black here since about 1880 when the Europeans decided that they would label themselves white. Prior to that we were known as the copper colored races, the first Americans. Look it up in the 1828 Merriam Webster dictionary!

God blessed us with Cousin Emma. Her herbs brought us healing and comfort back in the 70’s when we relocated to Greenville NC. I used to drive my grandmother, Eathey Newton, to her home in Fountain NC for tinctures and other herbal salves. Wow! How I miss those ladies.

My grandma Mamie was just like her. Whenever I had a cold or fever I stayed home from school with her and would be healed instantly. She used a lot of bark and syrup from a real tree and made some kind of tonic and put in my orange juice. Her food healed your body and soul. She kept her own garden, too.

She knows what she is talking about. The food being sold today isn't safe. Many health issues we have today are caused by the over-processed, contaminated foods being sold. Look out for the modern doctors. Most of them will get you hooked on drugs. My Grandpa (my father's father) was a Herbalist, farmer, seed saver, and bee keeper. He wormed us children every spring. When I was in the 4th grade, I had a huge boil to form on my right wrist. One day, I was sent home from school with a note telling my parents to take me to a doctor to have that boil lanced. Grandpa saw me walking home from school (and he came to see why I was home). After he read the note, Grandpa left the house and came back with clean rags and a can of his black salve. Grandpa put a lot of his black salve on (and around) that boil. He wrapped my wrist with a clean rag and tied it on. He then put my coat, gloves, and hat on me; and, he took me with him to play outside in the cold fresh air. My mother was yelling, "You're going to kill her" (as we left the house). After a while, Grandpa took me back to the house. He removed my hat, gloves, and coat. Then he removed the rag and wrapped it around the fingers of his left hand. With very little pressure, he painlessly rolled the pus and core of that boil out. He cleaned the open boil and told me to let the air help heal it. I was back at school the very next morning.

Thank you Jared for this, I grew up in Southeast Arkansas and I swear Mrs Dupree reminds me of the Elder Ladies in my small town, so smart and knowledgeable, faith and wisdom will carry you a looong way, I had a Great Uncle who almost made it 105 years, passed away at 104 a few months before his 105 birthday, this made me shed a tear, laugh and remember the Elders, thank you!

Many of us still use the Great Ways of our Elders. Eye cured my niece's fever with Peach leaves and Vinegar just the way she said. The hospital had sent her home and the fever had returned. My niece never had another fever for 30+ years. Eye use herbs for everything! GrandMother who is 104 yrs taught me many Great Ways that Eye still use.🎉🎉

what a flashback for me. My grandmama had this God sent wisdom and we grew up on it. Not once did I visit a doctor because my midwife grandmama had a remedy for whatever ailed us. I don't have a great memory of what was needed but this wonderful lady is so on point with her wisdom. These methods hold true still today, I wish I had the knowledge. Thanks for sharing, be blessed 😊

This brought back so many memories of my grandmother. She would line us all up and give us a spoonful of something. We never went to the dr. She would creat this grease for our hair and we all had heads full of beautiful thick, long hair. She passed and left just the memories. I’ve been growing a garden and researching and bringing all of her essence back to life! Thank you so much for this beautiful video of such a beautiful soul. 💜. This just popped up on my feed today. It would be wonderful to me if you could share your recipes, if not I understand, I am trying to find out the old ways of healing for my self the majority of books out there, at least ones I have bought don't tell these types of true healing, unless I just haven't found the correct books. @@elizabethdixon9884 sure I can, we just have to be careful because you know how KZfaq is, they are really cracking down on Herbal Healing, if you can give me an ideal of what your struggling with, I’d be happy to make a video for you on my channel so we don’t get anyone in trouble with KZfaq. They are really getting strict. So if you can tell me what’s been bothering you, I can put together a few ideals, recipes and herbs that I’m familiar with that shouldn’t be too hard to fine. Just always have to remember to talk to a doctor first before you do any herbal supplements and you should work hand-in-hand with your doctor herbs. Can’t fix everything they can only help they are not a cure-all that’s for sure. But they can make a huge difference Blessings to you my friend
