Very nice, and much appreciated. I've literally just started an ork army and have no idea how to do any painting, I'm glad you showed how the different layers and shades should be applied. Looking at the selection of paints available without examples of application just melts my brain. I'll have to keep reminding myself the boys don't have to be super detailed and messy is fine when it comes to orks.

Mixing them up the best way, im uncertain about how to do. its very.. daunting to look at all those pieces.
@EmperorsCrusade4 жыл бұрын
Hi mate. So the big shooter goes on one of the boyz. Not on the nob. It replaced the weapons for one of the boyz. You’re better off using 32mm bases as eventually everything in 40k will be minimums 32mm

Awesome tutorial. I've been watching a lot of videos on how to paint a lot of Orks quickly, but still to a nice standard and this really fits the bill. I've just subscribed to your channel off the back of this video alone. I want to get back to my Orks after years away from them, but I've been kind of put off by the number I've got to get done, I think you were right when you said near the end "Let go of vanity". I think I'd rather have a nice looking Horde rather than a superb looking Mob. Regarding painting/time efficiency, you could have saved yourself a minor step in there. Paint the teeth before you wash the clothes and wash them at the same time. Thanks for putting out a really useful video :)

would be a different tone to your scheme but i like to share techniques ive picked up that may help anyone but have you considered using a bone spray or Zandri dust and washing the skin in Biel Tan Green? ive used the technique and knocked out the skin on 20 boyz and 10 nobz and a warboss in like 20 min and it really looks nice because of the light spray for the first coat it litterally shaded and almost double highlights the model for you in one swoop. Just a tip. Your Orks look fantastic btw. Ive done it as well like this only with Waaagh Flesh followed by Biel Tan and then Warboss Green and a final highlight of Skarsnik Green basically the GW scheme i guess although i like my wash only techniques results a little better

Although, I was wondering if you had any tips for darkening the Elysian green tone if you’ve ever tried to? I’m trying to make my bigger Orks darker but I’d like to keep it looking cohesive rather than a darker green from a different scale. I’m thinking of just adding rhinox hide to the mix?

I always paint the most recessed parts first, be it armor or skin. aslong im in the base color phase there its always easy to clean up if you make mistakes. Once you go further down the line with washes and highlights it becomes harder. The way i paint my Orcs is: Skin first, clothes, armor and weapons next. Then give everything a wash and bring the base colors back up again. then its time for highlights and done.

I like to ask some questions. I really like how your orks look btw and you were the most helpful of all the videos that I've seen before. I'm really new to painting models, and I'm not familiar with the terms at all amongst other things. So how do you do the "watering" technique and do you have to use a specific paint for that or any paint will do? Does that "shade" labeled paint means its for "watering" and do you have to use actual water for that? Also how many brushes do you need and for what parts. Last question is, your models at the start of the video are already really black, the original minies are more greyer. Did you paint those as well with a brush or you spray painted them? I'm really confused when it comes to painting models, I can never get the full info also I can't even strip the painting off my minies, I tried to use paint-remover but it messed up the whole plastic, when i was brushing it the whole plastic was coming down not just the paint. I'll try to use dishwasher to get it off but im not sure if its really gonna do the job. People also told me to use degreaser but that would mess up the plastic even more.
@EmperorsCrusade5 жыл бұрын
Hi mate! if i can suggest just watching a lot of WarhammerTV to learn techniques for painting and going to your nearest GW store if you can for them to show you how to paint. Also, with stripping paint, just use airbrush paint thinner from vallejo.. :D

a bit late but this is due to his lighting probably. it could be a matter of things. As an Ork player I wouldn't aim to copy someone else's Army.

Love the tutorial, I'll be taking quite a few of your techniques on to my own Orks. I'd like to use red instead of the checkered pattern though, any recommendations on which paints to use?

Awesome man. Great idea! I would probably use a dark red like khorne red as a base then add highlights/scratches using a brighter red like evil sunz scarlet 😊

I’m curious to know, for the orks you dressed in black tops, did you leave the imperial primer as is or was a base, layer or shade applied?
@EmperorsCrusade6 жыл бұрын
i just left the black from the basecoat showing and cleaned it up with abaddon black right at the end of the model.
