I stopped working full time so I can pursue school and just recently I was inspired to become an EMT. On a weight loss journey, down 50 pounds and almost at my goal. Going to go to EMT school hopefully this upcoming year.

This guys program is worth buying. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. I used it for my NREMT (18 years old). Starting paramedic school next may and I’ll be using him again!

For the longest time, I believed I didn't have the smarts for this field. I now know I didn't have the discipline to prepare myself correctly. I went through health academy in high school for the wrong reasons. My mind was too young and undisciplined to put the work in, and I gave up halfway through EMT class because I thought myself idiotic. Fast forward a few years, and I did a bit of this and a bit of that, and in the process, I had grown. I still have a lot to learn, but now I have high hopes knowing that all I needed to do was prepare myself. Thank you for further opening my eyes and giving us better hopes for the future. Now I can get back on track to becoming a firefighter. It's time to get real for the first time. Thanks again, cheers.

I’m currently an EMT going through paramedic school.. I live in south Florida. Most ambulance service run only IFTs with the occasional backup for Fire Rescue if they’re busy. In order to run 911s you would have to become a firefighter. Im currently thinking of moving further north in Florida or to a different state

Hi I’m 17 and I wanted to ask if I get emt certified could I just use that to become a firefighter or cause I’ve been hearing paramedic/ firefighter is likely to be hired then an emt one so do I need to become a paramedic too ?

What’s the average age people get into the ems field? I’m 22 and noticed a lot of people in my emt class were much older. My end goal is the fire service and I already have my FF1. Am I on track?

I started at 19 as an EMT, and was a licensed Paramedic at 21, "age is just a number" is very true in this profession. There are varied ages of the "most common" EMS provider working 20-45 is about average age

Hello, i was just wondering does your study course start at square 1? I have law enforcement and military first aid training but nothing else.

I’m 18 years old and recently got my NREMT, Ambulance Cert, and all the qualifications needed. However I can’t seem to find any volunteer opportunities near me. I’m located in Socal(OC). Its hard for me to get hired because I have no prior experience. Do you have any recommendations/advice?

When you say "near me" are there any within 1 hour drive? If not I would say these are your two options with your situation. Are there any ER Tech, support staff, medical assistant positions in your area that your EMT can get you in with? My second option would be to search for opportunities elsewhere to use your EMT cert. for example, when they're is a natural disaster or other event, job placement companies hire anyone with a certification who's ready and willing to help. I know right now many are looking for help, you would gain valuable experience while making a difference, goes right on your resume too.

I’m 18 in emt/fire class down here in Florida it’s going great about two months away from being done with the emt part it’s awesome and so many jobs available to get your foot in the door

I got hired at a plasma center as a phlebotomist with no experience. They paid for me to go to EMT and AEMT school. I then got hired for my county’s 911 service and they paid for my Paramedic school. Plasma centers are a good option
