I've had this exact situation happen. It's been 2.5 years since the breakup with a second attempt 1.5 years ago where she flip flopped again but still wanted to be casual friends but I couldn't, and about 9 months since last contact where I told her to never contact me again. I get it. I wish I never met her. It's a long road to no longer feeling that pain but if you set your mind away from that person, time will remove the pain. Let the past die, kill it if you have to. Push forward and you'll get another chance at love when it's all gone.

Yes, that is called settling and it will leave you just as harmed later in life when you will constantly wonder why you were so insecure on your own that you settled when you realize at 60 something that you would have been happier on your own. I know so many people who have, and they regretted it as long as they lived once they understood that settling for someone they liked a lot cut off any hope of finding real love. I am mid sixties and have been alone, no longer even in the market, not for a long time, but I am glad I lived it the way I did rather than settling for security, companionship, or sex. :/ almost 4 years ago my ex took my 1 and 1/2 year old daughter whike 5 months pregnant with my son and left me for a so called friend that just got out of jail and lives with his mom and I was trying to help get a job by driving him around to apply. (he is now in jail for life without parole) so she gets strung out on drugs and bounces around living in a van and apparently the back of tire shops and wherever but nobody could track her down. So a 24 days ago her mother contacted me and told me she had emergency temporary custody and asked if I wanted to be in their lives and I said of course. I spent everyday that weekend all day playing at the park with them it was great. So for the last 3 weeks I have talked to my kids and her almost every day and my transmission went out on my truck so I couldn't see them again as soon as I would have liked but we had a 4 way phone conference with the mother, her mother, myself and the caseworker. Amanda went off and isn't even eligible for custody due to drug charges. So me and her mom Patricia had agreed that she wanted me to have full custody of both of them and we made a plan with the caseworker and everything. Well Tuesday I get a call from the caseworker saying their is a custody hearing in 2 days and I can't reschedule. I tell everyone I can't be there or I'll get fired I had to have more notice than that I can't afford to lose my job that's detrimental to the kids and everything. Well they awarded her mom full custody and I have no visitation rights. I've cried so many tears over these years that when I got to see them I was happier than Ive ever been. Her mom has a history of drug use and a criminal record as well as living with her 80 something year old moms boyfriend and she is on bad health also. Its terrible.if you can this has crushed my soul. This is a level of pain I didn't know existed. And I hit a semi head on both of us doing 55 or 60 on purpose.

How I cope is by keeping myself busy and I try my best to avoid these kinds of videos. Also I do find solace in meditation. There are several videos on here on healing. You can search them. Healing binaural beats or healing hypnosis. Something like that. May not work for everybody but it helped me. Do give those a try.

I'm in the same boat. I hope we both can move on. When I found out he was married and had a sweet kids, I felt like being sick-I actually went into the fetal position, I was so upset. I've never had such a strong reaction to anyone like that in my life. I can never have him--he is so madly in love with his wife.
