I watched this movie for Christmas with my dad and brother, I teared up and cried in the last two minutes of this clip because I loved this scene. I loved how Bill Murray delivered his dialogue, he was funny, full of heart by the end, and I just loved it.

The first time I watched this movie, when the kid said "God Bless Us everyone." It's not because he said god bless us, it's the fact he BROKE HIS SILENCE. I LOST IT crying. Bill Murray's reaction was perfect, and it's the first time I actually saw Murry act seriously, when I was younger. It was such an AMAZING buildup and twist, that it gets me every time.

one of my fondest memories is watching this with my father as a child I had woke up and couldn't sleep he let me stay up and watch it with him on Xmas eve eating his favourite biscuits. every Xmas eve now since he passed o stay up on Xmas eve with a tin of his favourite biscuits and watch this movie and for that time it feels like I'm 8 again rest easy dad❤

It was kind of a crappy, sarcastic speech until the last few seconds, when Bill Murray finally became vulnerable and realized that he was connected to what he was saying and that he wasn't above it all. It's like he just woke up in that moment and realized he was expressing something that all of us feel.

what's amazing is that the entire thing was ad libbed. done completely on the fly. he really pissed off Richard Donner, who thought he was having a legit mental breakdown. it actually led to a near fistfight with a producer and Murray. but I'm glad they kept it. that speech was intense.
