You are by far the only reason I was able to confidently finish A&P 1 and trust myself to take AP 2 during the summer. Knowing I had your videos and help. You are the best at what you do, THANK YOU!

I am pretty sure I said pancreas, but yes, I accidentally wrote pituitary. Thanks for bringing that to my attention!

I'm a little lost on the organ during questioning....how come the organ is pituitary and not pancreas ......because of the pancreatic islets
@AnatomyHero
@AnatomyHero 11 ай бұрын
That was a mistake! I should go and blur that out...it should've said pancreas

That is Islet not Island I think!
@AnatomyHero
@AnatomyHero 3 ай бұрын
They definitely are pancreatic islets. There's a chance I mistakenly called them islands, but I think you might be referring to when Im making the analogy of them being "cellular islands" for the purposes of visually differentiating the glands. Sorry if it wasn't clear that's what I was doing, and/or sorry if I misspoke and said island instead of islets.

No need to be a misandrist in your videos ..”The old dead Men ” made medicine and cure that we know to be what it is today and some of them at expense of their own life and the cells are named after them.”Feminists need not erase men’s contributions to further your own”

If it makes you feel any better, the gender of the scientist has nothing to do with why the field is transitioning away from structures named after people. It's more the fact that a person's name doesn't help describe the function or appearance in a meaningful way. For example "subendocardial conducting network" describes exactly where the structure is and what it does, whereas "purkinje fibers" doesn't. It's less confusing for everyone in the long run if the names are descriptive, but in the short term it can lead to some confusion because depending on how old you professor is, or how old your book is, you might hear the old name or the newer name, which is why I often say both...and yes, I will often flippantly describe the older name as the "old dead guy name", a habit I picked up from my own professor, Dr. Thomas McGovern.

My comment is based on how you used the language to describe Scientists ..and it doesn’t change from the fact that they are named after contributions done by old Dead guys you flippantly described ..and language ,Respect and professionalism is everything in a physicians communication ... it’s probably the time you change the way you speak on the greatest contributors of medical Knowledge and science regardless of the gender or where you picked it from …So instead of “old dead guys” you can use phrases like “Medicine is trying to change as the names are confusing and don’t relate to the function of the cell or a structure”..And yes it will make me feel better if I was able to change anyone to respect our older Doctors and scientists

@@Notyourdad90 I'm actually not that concerned about the contingent of people that can't stomach mild irreverence, so I'm going to continue to be flippant. If I'm too spicy for you, I would suggest Fiore's Atlas of Normal Histology.
