He killed me 60 times or so, lost count after the 5th death. Then, I was so close to beating him, probably one or two hits left, no elixir, then I died...

This boss is ridiculously hard, you simply don’t have enough stamina to dodge his attacks in Yokai realm mode

The level of near perfection required for such extended periods of time might be a bit overkill for this game. It's fun, but I think they took it a bit too far.

Designers thought when creating Enenra : Let’s create a boss that smokes the player or get’s smoked and exists out of smoke.

He's like way less aggressive in the video than in my fight... nice rng...

to everyone that still have problem - when the boss does melee attacks just walk to the left, he cant hit you(other than burst attack)

Remember to switch to low stance or mid stance after attacking to make backing off or blocking better

This boss is not too hard to learn his movesets but it is very long winded and becomes a real struggle with Ki management. I literally got this boss down to under 5% health 4 times in a eow and just make 1 small misstep or find myself in a bad situation with ki and he just ends me. Its really frustrating because he is so damn tanky and can close in on you so quickly that a mistake is bound to happen. The dark realm obviously doesnt help either. The summons are absokutely useless in this fight because he has those bomb attacks that summons seem to be totally ignorant of. Also summons are way to aggressive and dont even try to play defensively so they die before you make it to first dark realm or while in it leaving you stranded for 2nd half of fight but he's tougher because he scaled up for 2 people. Its a weird fight. On 1 hand he's fairly straight forward but hes also quite versatile and agile. You can't make a mistake in this fight because it will end you. It's a little too long winded a fight which makes it much harder than it needs to be. Ki management is really tough to keep up with when he's doing long combos followed by tornados etc.

Took me a few hours but I finally beat him. Besides just telling you to memorize his fight patterns here’s a few tips. 1. After dodging his flurry of attacks I often had no more stamina to counterattack, you can solve this issue by using the water item that quickly regenerates stamina, it lasts approximately 30 sec and restores any stamina you use during this timeframe at a stupidly fast rate allowing you to play more aggressively. 2. Watch his stamina bar, after you survive his blitzkrieg, he will become low on stamina and start throwing ranged attacks, this is the perfect time to get up close and slap him since he will stagger easily on no stamina. 3. It doesn’t hurt to put the water element consumable on your weapon but I wouldn’t recommend it. It’s already difficult enough to find time in between the chaos to heal and use your stamina regen potion. The water element only lasts for about 30 seconds and it doesn’t increase damage by much. Not to mention the money it takes to buy them. You’re much better off buying health and stam regen potions.

Rough fight. I think his health/DR is a bit high for an early game boss. When he comes back in his twilight mission he seems even more resistant to elements and poison. Honestly water is not great against him despite him being "weak" against it for the NG fights. Best strat is circle left to avoid his melee and burst counter. Prep for an endurance encounter 😪

The damage I did to him was ridiculously low...even in Dark Souls 1 most bosses took more damage per hit

I always use the feral yokai form as it gives a free Dodge as long as you have Anima. Super useful in general instead of being used only for burst counters

One thing I love about this game is the death counter when you’re looking at the specific Yokai forms back at your Hut. I thought this dude was merking me but he only killed me 9 times, seemed like 30+ lolz

Even if you start the counter once he turns into a tornado, you’ll still take damage occasionally. There’s definitely a window of time where you can counter it and avoid taking damage because I’ve done it before, but I’m not exactly sure when it has to be pulled off.

I was stuck on this boss for days. Felt like I died at least 100 times trying to beat enenra. Everytime I got his at least half he would go into dark realm and I would get destroyed. After watching this and learning about the dodge counter with the tornado I bet him on my 2nd try. Thank you for this guide 😁🙏

19 deaths. Double sword and Phantom guardian. Tried to do with the chain sickle (forgot the name) and almost worked, but. I still think this game is less punishing and more on the "s.o.b. kinda fair" said than DS. You can farm way more and is less frustrating to lv up. My personal tips to defeat that SOB: - Equip a ninja armor, very necessary. - Use a guardian spirit. - Perfect Counter his attacks. - NEVER EVER attack him in the yokai realm mode. - Use Water Amulet/Also make him hit those poles, it will do damage to him and fill your guardian spirit gauge. No need to thank me :)

This makes it look easier. I had to keep moving to the left in circle to avoid all attacks. Wait for him to teleport, proceed to dodge while moving away. Attack him and move away quickly and then use my feral abilities after the water pillars fell on him to get him to the grapple sequence. And just rinse and repeat for a hour before I finally did it perfect.

You don't have to burst counter dodge his combos. When he teleports beside you, you have to switch to low stance and keep in close contact while dodging so you can immediately attack after his combos, it is perfectly safe since he is just gonna back away after that. His combos are perfectly predictable as well since if Enenra starts with a kick, he will do 2 kicks which you can heavy attack afterwards. If he does that slapping attack, it will be 4 attacks. Slap, kick, slap, kick or 3 slaps and a kick. In yokai realm enenra just does his combos faster but you can dodge it still while staying close. I really recommend using The Brute Yokai shift for beginners (I am a beginner as well). Yes it is easier to use Feral, but when you are using Brute, you have to always stay at a proper range with an opponent to time your burst counters well and not just run around relying on burst counter to dodge when you make mistakes. This trains you to really read enemy movements so you don't die everytime a new type of enemy appears.

The most dangerous part of the dark realm is his attacks become almost twice as fast and almost impossible to avoid if he teleports right next to you and you fail to create distance quickly enough.

Loving the game and although I love the idea of putting overwhelming bosses basically at the beginning of the game it’s frustrating as well. He’s the SECOND boss! The first boss was just as bad too! But it encourages you to get better.

It was hard, but not overly hard. I think the main point of this boss is teaching you how to Burst Counter. Took my 5 or so tries to beat him. Idk if I was overpowered, I was level 20 with a 230 dmg Yamashiro Odachi, using high stance to poke a few quick hits when he had openings. The fight didn't take too long. I'm a beginner at Nioh but finished DS1 and ER before. Tips: . Find the nearby hot spring and activate it before entering the boss room. It provides a bit of passive health regen. . Learn how to Burst Counter him when he turns into a fire tornado. The timing is pretty easy if you've played souls-like before. You can hold RT and then press B just as he gets close to you. Idk if each youkai's form counter is different - I was using the monkey form if that helps. Everyone gets it after killing the first boss (horse guy). . Keep some distance, strafe around him and be patient. Only attack on openings, and only when you have stamina, don't be greedy. I heard strafing to the left is better, didn't notice much difference. . Using the youkai form is probably helpful but not mandatory, I completely forgot about it in the last fight, I was focused on watching the boss' moves. . Recruiting a summon in front of the boss room also helps a bit, but is not mandatory. They tend to get caught in his tornadoes and die fairly quickly. On the other hand, there's usually a lot of pvp summons near the boss room and the hot springs, so it's not hard to replenish your summon currency if you want to use them anyway. . I was planning to use water amulets (a consumable that changes your weapon element to water), it helps you deal more damage to him. I only had 6 of them in my inventory so the plan is to at least learn the boss entire moveset before you start using them. In my case I ended up killing it before I got to try them out. . Check if you're using equipment properly. When you don't have enough stats to use an equipment, the game still lets you equip them, but the bonus stats get greyed out. . Keep yourself below 70% weight (green color) so you stay in the middle weight tier. I think the heavy tier makes your dodge slower and uses more stamina. . Check your inventory, you might have a bunch of spirit stones stacked there and it might be enough for a level up.

I use spear and axe and this was quite the endurance fight, took ages. I would wait for openings and heavy attack in high stance then I'd cleanse his realm. I'd move into low stance to repeatedly dodge and wait for an opening then go back into high stance when I found one. Really fucking fun fight but really hard... took me about 4 attempts

Hey y'all. I'm new to this game but it seems to me like the point of this boss is to teach you how to juggle your right shoulder. In his normal form you can pretty much stick with high stance. After teleporting he mixes it up as others have said but if he starts with a kick that's money... even if you have to block he'll always follow with only ONE other kick you can walk around, punish, and pulse pretty easily. They're slow to come out and have good range but only spear forward, so sidestep. Always burst his tornado. In his Yokai form switch to high stance and don't get greedy. He's waayy faster but so are you... I specifically didn't use my feral dodge and didn't have to. You'll have plenty of ki if you don't go nuts on offense. Finally I found I could get HIS ki to almost zero pretty reliably but I couldn't stagger him before he switched realms and regenerated like half of it... The solution for me was to throw the R2 monkey spear at him at that point and boom, grapples galore and a much shorter fight. Hope this helps, and have fun:)

Cant beat this guy. I have mastered all of his moves except one: The fucking teleport in the yokai realm!!! Since its random what side he's on if I run even slightly in the wrong direction I get hit with the four hit combo and I'm dead. Cheap boss.

Oh dear. So you could counter the whirlwinds. That was the hardest bit. I just killed him by dodging the whirlwinds and staying behind him. Using the water pillars makes him less aggressive I think. You can run around the kicks, best not to dodge unless you have to so you get more hits in. I knew I was missing something, the whirlwinds were very punishing. Good fight though, well designed boss.

The boss is simple enough just if you get make a slight mistake and get stuck in a combo your dead

This boss is really garbage designed. The game suggests level 10 for it. I struggled so hard at level 30. You do so terrible little damage. Is this the way to make bosses hard? Just tedious and long that you die of boredom.

the only reason this guy is hard is because he has so much hp, you lose interest halfway through the fight, unless you have massive damage like the guy in the video, somehow he deals 500 damage per attack

My first time playing i quit because of him I downloaded again cause the game got remastered for ps5 so tried it and I cant believe i let him get the best of me originally hes so trash he did kill me multiple times not because he's hard but because he did a lot of damage he's so easy

Has anyone beaten this boss with game version 1.0? I am already at level 50 skill using dual sword. Sometimes my buttons were not responsive and burst counter was useless. I don't want to update the game because I want to know if the disc is not a broken game, and just want to play solo.

Boss is perfectly fine. All his attacks are easy to dodge. What makes the fight hard is that you have little health and stamina which means your margin of error is tiny. You need to have a decent grasp of Ki management and Yokai abilities usage to level the playing field so if you somehow made it there without practing those you're going to have a hard time

Wow I struggled for an hour because i followed the advice of a "pro" guide that said that low stance was not good for unexperienced players, once I went low stance and got that KI I beat him in 2 tries vs the 20+ times I died before, to ya'll fuck guides experiment and do your own thing!
