Just got the Tribit Stormbox Pro and have been blown away by the rich clear sound of this high end budget speaker that continues to blow away the namebrand competition. Based on one of your interviews I bought 2 Tribit StormBox Pros. They were so good I bought 2 more. I may buy 2 more soon. These are for my guest bedrooms at my lake cottage so my guests can have music in their bedroom or take them out on the lake.

Question, can you use a 3.5mm to usbC dongle to plug an auxiliary music player into the stormbox pro? I use minidisc players with no Bluetooth connectivity as well as my Sony A45

I believe so. The dongle should take care of the conversion (in theory) so I don’t see why not. If you get it, let me know if it works. Cheers

Since they go so loud, I'm wondering if they might have won the sound quality test at 80% volume. Features not mentioned: (1) you can use it to charge your devices and (2) the updated Tribit app has a series of sound profiles, custom EQ settings, auto shutdown options etc

How does the tribit pro compare to the ue megaboom do you think it’s louder or similar? Does it have more bass? I have the Megaboom and am looking for something with a little more bass and something that’s louder. I’m not sure if it’ll be much better but it has a good price right now so I’m considering it.

I don’t have one at my disposal to test right now but I believe they sound similar. So just upgrading one may not be worth it however if you are considering buying two of them and set up as a stereo specially with the current coupon code they have I think that would be a bargain

I own it as well. Great for cycling. Put it in your Handlebars if you have room or your front downtube if not.

I use the UE Boom 3 😁 it doesn't take forever to charge it has surprising good bass even when I listen audio books or podcasts casts it sounds very clear. Also my ue boom 3 can connect to my UE megaboom original so that's awesome it's backwards compatible. In party mode you can connect an absurd amount of booms any generation.It also has an alarm feature that through the app will wake my speaker when it is powered off and wake me up at a designated time how cool is that. My final thoughts use the speaker that fits your needs its really that simple . He did an amazing job he gave you all the facts best to his ability and even gave you his opinion but the end of the day use the speaker that makes you happy their no right or wrong choice only your preference.

I think you missed the point with the battery, yes it takes 7hrs to charge fully...however it lasts 24hrs, the UE3 only lasts 15hrs. If you only wanted 15hrs you could just chrge to 60%, which would be approx 4hrs, the exact same time as UE3 takes. If anything the battery is better as it can last longer between charges. I have both speakers and my daughter in law has jbl, both my wife and daughter prefer the jbl when played as background lower volume music but when cranked up the tribit is mine and wife's favourite, daughter prefers UE3. The tribit & UE3 are also ip67 dust and waterproof, jbl isn't. The UE3 also have to buy the dock separate. My first UE3 battery broke, 2 weeks old wouldn't hold charge took 3 weeks to get a new one.

To be fair, for the same price, you get 2 Tribits. Put them in stereo mode and do the comparison again with 1 mono UE. Do we have a clear winner now?

That would be a good test. The Soundcore Motion+ I have and it is awesome. The JBL's aren't close to it. The Stormbox Pro might be a contender. I say might because The Soundcore has slain all competition it's come up against.

anker really has it down. with the user eq it beats bose, jbl, sony, UE. Same w the motion boom. with the user eq it beats the jbl extreme 3, sony xb 43, etc

I don't know how you all individually feel about "break-in", but this reviewer played the Tribit straight out of the box. With this in mind, you Tribit owners can testify, it sounds better with use. If he went back today and redid this review, the Tribit would sound much different.

If you can't hear the clear distinction between the 3 you need to stop listening to these tests on your crappy Logitech speakers. I've owned lots of JBL audio in my life including a pair of 732's but I'm going to pick up a Storm box pro. Great review.

I really really really really wanted to like the StormBox Pro, especially since I’ve had good luck with their other speakers. But alas, the Tribit’s sound leaves a little less to be desired, to put mildly. The volume is there, the bass is kinda there, but the overall sound is not. Also, I’m enamored with the form factor and the materials used. Which made it even more disappointing that I had to sell it

Super close between the top 2, the JBL is a joke. At $71 intro price for Tribit, there's no competition. My 2 stormbox pros are "out for delivery". Can't wait to test them out!

@@EnforcerMan Nice early delivery! Hooking them up to my phone in stereo took about 10 seconds. I'm quite happy with the sound. Complete stereo separation, and the 360 nature absolutely fills my bedroom with spacious music. The two of them together are really loud, I could easily put them at opposite ends of the house and listen everywhere. My mother-in-law is here, so that's probably not a good idea ATM. For what they are, they sound great. It's not my vintage sansui receiver with BW speakers, but this doesn't take up a ton of space or cost a bunch of money either. The only other bluetooth speaker I have for comparison is a single original stormbox. 2 of these sound closer to the fancy stereo than to 1 old stormbox, which is a solid compliment. I am pretty amazed that a couple speakers the size of a big starbucks cups can put out this much sound. These don't have the clarity of the big stereo or my Sony wh-1000xmV3 headphones, but it's not realistic to expect they would. I'd say if somebody can get a pair for $200 or less it's a bargain. I am kinda cheap, so even for full price they are a buy. I've got a Bluetooth projector, I'm going to hook these up and see how that goes.

It’s such an awesome speaker I got mine in the mail a few days ago. I’m a speaker nut. I have tried so many over the years, I’ve had JBL, Sony, Beats, for wireless speakers and now having the Tribit. For the price to cost ratio the Tribit Stormbox pro has been the best.

Good review... I just wished you would've run a battery test on your own instead of going based of what the manufacturer said the battery life should be.... In the end, I'm a music guy so sound quality matters to me, I'd pick the UE especially because I've used the older iterations of it... But the Storm Box Pro has "better battery life", in built handle, louder, and that coupon to get it for $70 makes it a better buy but at $120 I'd pay the extra to get the UE for $130

You can learn about dindinmodern speakers, they are very full of bass and very loud. They are great in the low-cost speakers.

Stormbox pro is the loudest and the better soundquality for me ... The Boom 3's is a little bit sharper than the others . And surprisingly the Flip 5's Bass sounds a bit deeper than the Tribit but the Flip sounds muddy.

Great Comparison and very concise review. However If Im being honest there are many better speakers than the boom 3 in the 150 dollar budget. (Eg anker soundcore motion Boom, Motion Plus, Sony xb 33, Xb 43).

I think it was a poor choice to use all speakers at max volume. The JBL does not get as loud, but the sound was more balanced. JBL volume should have been the baseline and the others should have been reduced to that volume for the quality tests. Both the Tribit and the Boom 3 were clearly sacrificing sound quality for volume at their max vol setting.

@@goinbulilit3846 I've never heard anything under 100 bucks that comes remotely close in sound quality, battery life etc. I've owned many speakers that I paid over 100 bucks. I currently have the flip 5 in addition to the max sound. The JBL is barely better and cost twice as much.

Jbl flip series are nowhere near in Tribits thats why here in philipphines. we call the Tribits the killer of jbl flip series. even the tribit Maxsound plus can dominate the flip series 😂

You want the best speaker under 150 ... one that will put all of these to shame and even the jbl extreme 3 the charge 5 and the bose revolve plus I will give you 3..... w king d9.... w king t9 and the best of these in my opinion is the newest w king x10...... all 3 of these r a joke to the w king speakers I've mentioned and the d9 is 89.99 the t9 is 129.99 and the x10 is 115.99 trust me man no offense or bein rude the reality is is ive had these other speakers mentioned alo g with harmon kardon studio 6 the aiwa exos 3 and the soundcore motion plus and the motion boom ..... not sure how more people doin revuews haven't caught on to w king especially since the d9... they're doin some special stuff right now and if ya tried any a these I'd bet anything you'd say thank you!!! Im use tribit....... And the sound im love the voice is gold sound... But must all thing every item got difrend type so.... In 2024 for me tribit.... Why jbl and sony or other cam out with high price... Local people how want buy it..... So the compay tribit thing that....... Im mlysia buy this 290 scond but new 1 month use... So good the sound... Bttry one day...... Why jbl sony never but power 1 day

The Flip 4 is better than the Flip 5. The Boom 2 is better than the Boom 3. This is coming from someone with real world first hand use.

Thats not even a fair comparison! Did you know that the Storm box PRO has a woofer down at the bottom? You get pounding bass with that thing. The equivalent Tribit speaker to the JBL and Boom 3 would be the Tribit Stormbox and Not the Stormbox PRO! By the way, I think the Stormbox PRO looks ugly with that large thick handle (in my opinion), the Stormbox is better looking.

I agree that it's not the best looking one. As a matter of fact I think UE is the best looking one. However about the comparison I disagree... It's about the price point. If I go down to the StormBox which is $50, then you can argue it's not fair to compare a $50 speaker with a $150.... so I focus on what money can buy. I hope I was able to explain my thought process.
