Nyoken your voice sounds really smooth. I have also began making videos for youtube. Can you say what microphone you use? Do you use some audio editing to smooth out your voice before uploading?

Thanks! I don't use any audio editing except for the Noise Suppression filter on OBS and I just bought the CAD e100sx mic a couple weeks ago. It was $150 on Amazon. I bought this mic based on videos by BoothJunkie on KZfaq. He does comparisons of different mics and seems to favor the CAD over everything and even has a video titled "CAD E100s vs THE WORLD!" (the CAD e100s is the older version). I was also recommended a Shure SM7B microphone (a lot of streamers use it) but ultimately I liked how the CAD sounded in BoothJunkie's videos so I went with that. If you do buy this microphone you are going to need an XLR preamp and I use the Focusrite Scarlett Solo 2nd gen preamp. I doubt they still sell the 2nd gen, but the 3rd gen/4th gen version seems like it will work. I also use a Stedman pop filter. Just as an FYI, I had the CAD e100s before I bought this e100sx and I noticed it went bad after ~3 years while I was in Korea (there was a ton of static-y noise). Based on the videos by BoothJunkie he makes it sound like it should last many many years. I did leave my preamp on all the time so maybe that caused the microphone to go bad. So, now I've been making sure to turn the preamp off whenever I'm not using the mic. Not sure if that actually caused the problem or if it got busted while I was traveling to Korea. The CAD e100s was $500 when I bought it, so the CAD e100sx is much much cheaper but so far the mics sound identical to me.

In g3 of snow v sharp, why would sharp not take bottom left? Vs carriers it’s just a free base because of how slow they are. Maybe he loses anyway, and sharp was playing really well besides that, but it seems like such a clear misstep.

Incredibly hard to defend that base, and protoss had the 9 o clock which Sharp tried to attack multiple times aka where all the action and carriers were. Combined with 2 reavers in shuttles the entire time, and by the time Sharp would even think to take that base, Snow had 8 carriers, would have likely been a dead CC for sure. If Snow goes over there with his carriers he can fly on the edge and not even get punished to attack that base as well and be immediately back to the high ground where his 9 o clock base was

@@BalloonFight you don’t have to defend the base if units are never even near it. It’s just so out of the way that I don’t think snow could afford to bring his carriers over there until the very end where he was just winning anyway. Usually when toss loses with carriers it’s either that they lose before they get enough, or they’re even/behind on mining. It’s be one thing if it were incredibly resource/ apm intensive to get the base, but it just isn’t. Maybe you don’t keep it forever, and it’s hard to defend once it becomes a focal point, but then that forces the toss out of position and you can force more of a base trade scenario, which might benefit your more mobile army more. Clearly a tough position though.

I recently attempted switching to terran from protoss. Had my ups and Downs but ultimately I wasn't having as much fun mainly because tvts are boring and i missed the "small skirmishes" like Gypsy was saying.

1:44:45 I never until this moment playing (mostly watching) BW since 98’, not for a god damned moment, ever conceived the idea of trying to build pylons, and they fail building, so you know a mine is there…. ever in my life have I thought of that. 26 years later we’re still learning shit aboot this game. God damn… BW is the digital chess, I said it in like 2001 and I mean it now. It will never go away.

The biggest question I have is why doesn't protoss always do that shit? Safely get a few bases, make carriers -> win. Why allow terran a chance to win at all when the option to make carriers is available?

It is stupidly difficult to do this, and Snow made it look easy. To get carriers in time, protoss must skip all ground upgrades except goon range, while terran can get 1/1 or 2/1 mech. To compensate, Snow had to use his godly reaver micro off 1 robo to stall out the terran's timing attack. If the reavers die, the terran push wins before carriers arrive. In both carrier games, the initial carriers didn't engage until around the 16m30s mark. 3 stargate + fleet beacon + 3 initial carriers + 24 interceptors is an investment of over 2500 minerals, so terran can build an extra 20+ gols/tanks/vultures and simply win with a timing attack.

Basically, if Terran catches wind that you're going carrier, they can go through two macro cycles and possibly end the game in the next push. Protoss's job is to delay that as much as possible until Carriers finally come online, and preferably 4+.

PvT is so difficult that the matchup has universally and always been favored towards protoss, generally w/ a 60% winrate LOL. Protoss has always been winning PvT, most good protoss have realized theres a 60% win rate just by A-moving lots of zealots early game since terran automatically loses without perfect micro. The problem is protoss can't win shit against zerg, and instead blame terran for their complete lack of starleague wins. Don't worry, mapmakers will keep making maps like troy and 76 that are so artificially warped to make sure protoss win even more in PvZ.

Please suggest to afreeca to use the same format in RO8 (maybe in the next asl). 1st bracket will be the 1st tier players who advance. 2nd bracket will be the 2nd tier players it will still give 4 players in the Ro4.

It is not easy to get to carriers safely and if protoss tries to get them too quickly and terran scans them, then terran will 2base 7 factory allin. Stork is someone that consistently goes carriers, and he used to be unstoppable in the olden days. But in the current era the terran timings are too good.

idk, i think protoss's carriers are just too op, they attack both air and ground. i think an adequate nerf would be to make their movement slower. the fact that they move(3.33) faster than BC(2.5), while having cost lower than BC, plus that massive shield on top of it. just makes it uncounterable. this match perfectly illustrated that mass gols with full upgrade can't even go even against it. the other way to balance it is to somehow make ghost more viable. like faster lockdown research, more health, more range, etc...

Neo Dark Origin is just a tough map for TvP because it's not an open map. Sharp's gols were walking in a conga line trying to chase the carriers, and the bridges further bottleneck any factory timing attacks. Sharp should've banned this map instead of Blitz Y.

Nah, pls no changes to Broodwar. I don't want it to be like SC2. Flash has proven that Terran could go through many obstacles. Protons isn't op, probably just less effort in particular tiers.

It's a bit of a meme response, but the way to counter carriers is really just kill them before they get 4+ carriers. If you can catch that they're going into a carrier transition early, there's a big chunk of time where their ground army in going to be pretty weak. We have seen several other games in the past where Protoss tries to go carrier without an extremely strong defensive position, and just get rolled.

Shurp vs Snow. Why Snow build so many goons? Against almost pure gliath tank? like after 1:30:52 why not ocupy 12 - oo with goon and reaver? waist 1st reaver, when it was obvious that terran could make goliath, then lose so much goons in bad ingagements. Uncaracteristic game for Snow.

spoiler alert: Pretty disappointing that Action got eliminated by Mind as Action is a very entertaining player to watch. Each group has had their guy who didn't turn up and play to their proper potential - JyJ, Royal, Light, and now Action. Light and Action were the bigger shocks for mine. From here I'd like to see Hero or Best win ASL17.

It's not that surprising, unfortunately. Action has never been consistent. On his best day, he might be the best Zerg in the world; he can beat anyone. Historically, he's had genius moves, too; remember his proxy hatch against Light in ASL 6? This guy can be a pleasure to watch. Unfortunately, his "best day" isn't something you see too often. He often chokes, throws games, etc. :(
