Set during the Ming Dynasty, the story revolves around the romance between General Xu Ling Yi and the concubine's daughter Shi Yi Niang, that starts from an arranged marriage. Despite being born with a low status, Shi Yi Niang is extremely assertive and believes that a woman's vision should not be limited to the household. She hopes to rely on her embroidery skills as a ticket to freedom. However, the once esteemed Luo family is in a state of decline. Hoping to save the clan through a marriage alliance, Shi Yi Niang is selected to become the wife of Yongping Duke and great General Xu Ling Yi. Things were not easy for her due to the Xu family's biases towards her. Nonetheless, she manages to win over their trust through her optimism and sincerity. Xu Ling Yi also becomes attracted to her various beautiful qualities such that husband and wife manage to find love after marriage.
Through Xu Ling Yi's support, Shi Yi Niang opens Xian Ling Pavillion to have her own embroidery workshop. Meanwhile, Xu Ling Yi experiences many setbacks as he tries to protect his homeland and improve the livelihood of the people by supporting the lifting of a maritime ban. As they face a crisis that could spell the end for the Xu family, Xu Ling Yi and Shi Yi Niang continue to support each other through thick and thin.

The ending is beautiful. She use the divorce paper to release the marquis his connection to the pavilion business. His mother completely change and asked forgiveness for her daughter in law who is about to be persecuted. It was very tense when she was about to be killed. Also the other family help the marquis of being chase to save Shiyi. I watch this series a couple of times and it is magnificent

Beginning to end this is a great story. Each character had their moments. Shiyi is what I'd say instead of kill them with kindness she showed them with kindness. I didn't like that the mother in law had so much say on her son's marital affairs while also the son never corrected his errors in his marriages leading to many set ups. I kept getting two of the Xu concubines mixed up because they looked very similar in appearance. Sad that the one concubine who wanted to adopt didn't get the chance and her grudges were absolutely understandable. Oh Amber😔

All characters doing perfectly. FL's Smile so cute and her acting skills perfect as ML. Their understanding,faith on eachother, loyalty, pure/kind heart are example of healthy relationship in marriage. Marqulis adjusting with 3wives never got all those from any women but getting heartwarming love after Shiyi enter in his life thats why he feeling complited and falling love with her. Interior design of Main character room so beautiful mainly that round window 😍. Love betwn dongqng and general so cute 😘.

Absolutely SUPERB!! 💝💖 The value of Communication, Trust, and Love. This was a beautiful and perfect story! Without the trust, all would have fallen apart. All the family was doomed and cracking... Shi Yi's devotion to trust went miles and miles to repair seemingly irreparable damage to everyone she met. She repaired the family! Ladies and gents take note, please. Treating everyone with respect, sincerity, and love will soothe the most stubborn of hearts. This was BEAUTIFUL! By the way... I'm glad she had a little girl...♥ Someone needs to follow in momma's footsteps after-all.🥰🦋

It was a nice drama, but too many episodes to tell one story. How can so many bad things happen to one family, one person. I think all the actors and actresses did an excellent job. Wallace Chung and Seven Tan have great acting skills. Love them ❤❤

They framed and murdered the Xu patriarch along with his eldest son. The Ou's greed did not stop there, they wanted to keep their profitable smuggling business going and the upright General Xu Ling Yi wanted to lift the sea ban to stop smuggling. It was a never ending struggle.

Fl is good but I hate marquis for the way his concubines ended up. He got love he wanted from fl but he never gave any love to anyone but acted like victim for having calculating concubines who were all doing what they can to make him happy for his little attention. Murderer concubine deserve it but others his indifference and uncaring attitude made them so miserable,he never tried to make them happy or Know about their misery so that they started planning and plotting against each other. For me maybe fl deserves happiness but ml certainly was not worthy of love and happiness after destroying those women's life.
