Well I thought your cake looked really great Emma, well done you, at least you made it yourself. You should be proud of yourself. I assume everyone had a piece and found it delicious. Your sourdough looked great too. Everything you cook seems to look delicious and no doubt it is.

See... even when you have cake "issues" you still pull off a fantastic cake (that looked delicious too... love blueberries in baked goods). Isn't it funny how hosting an event that is essentially in your honour and all about you, can leave you totally wiped out. But all your hard work certainly paid off and now you can have pulled pork and cheese toasties ;) As always it is lovely to see how you are all doing :)

Awww I would have eaten that cake it looked fine . Sourdough looked brilliant . I think we all do the full house tidy I’m not sure why . Dishwashers are brilliant definitely.

Congrats! No pineapple and cheese hedgehogs?! 😁 Great cake and piping! We live and learn re sponge cakes but i bet it tasted great! I was crazy enough to make a 4-tier fruit cake as our wedding cake! Yeah, it weighted a ton and didn't think about the transportation of it from our basement flat! lol Luckily we managed to get it in the car and rolled it down the hill to the reception in one of our local brewery pubs for the reception! The bottom tier i think was about 14" and had a bottle of brandy in it! We forgot to save the top tier but by the time we got to the bottom tier months later, i couldn't drive after eating it! lol It took two/ three months to make and age and i did it in stages as we just had one oven. If i remember rightly i did a test cake first and took it into work to see if it tasted ok before i attempted it! I also found a very local pastry/ cake sous chef that made us some mini cupcakes that were lush and in a panic i also made 24 cupcakes as i was worried about people not liking the fruit cake. Kids demolished the sponge cakes and also 2.7 tiers of fruit cake was eaten. We had the 60 guests at the dinner reception of family and close friends and the put a tab on the bar and opened it up to other guests. Found the perfect dress in the Netherlands, found out the designer and source of manufacturing and got it sent direct to the UK for half of the price, inc fitting. The theme was local heritage, family, baby pink and butterflies. In 2012, with the help of my sister for art work, town hall hire, pub hire was about £6-7k. We also got a refund of the unspent tab on the bar. His family was quite small but he had several best men as he couldn't decide! lol If you want a chill wedding and want to speak to everyone, don't feel obliged to invite and just have fun! End of day is a good time but a lot of it would need marinating straight away overnight as it's been drying out on the counter, unless you ask for some out back in the cold room. Most butchers now get it pre packed in plastic now, so you don't get to ask for the extras to make stock now as the slaughter houses generally sell off the other bits at auction. Aww Looked liked you had a fab time! We got our fur daughter a baby pink fake dimonte collar and a baby pink retractable lead, much to the dis may of hubby! I took her back home when it was getting late and wanted her to have a proper dinner so she wasn't fed too much crap! Bless her! she had so much fun smelling everyone she knew! She left us Dec 2019. Yes leftovers. It could be weeks worth but you can freeze some! Touch wood, our old compact dishwasher is still going from flat days. We just run it a lot more when it's Christmas of family visits.
