Is your vehicle burning 2-3+ quarts of oil a month? This 2015 Hyundai Veloster GDI Engine was burning so much engine oil that in 2-weeks time it would be almost off the dipstick! This happens because of a bad engine design where the fuel injectors sit underneath the valve causing a lot of carbon build up. This carbon build up clogs up the piston rings allowing oil to get past the rings and into the combustion chamber. If left this way too long, permanent engine damage such as worn piston rings, more than 2% of fuel entering the engine oil will eventually cause a spun main/rod bearing.
When oil is burning in the combustion chamber it will clog up the catalytic converter. You'll see check engine codes such as P0420, P0421, P0422, P0423, P0424, P0430, P0431, P0432, P0433, P0434. You can even experience O2 Sensor Check Engine Codes as well.
