►This week on the Yippie Cayenne build, Ben ships the Cayenne off to Berg Performance for a weekend-long engine swap to replace the knocking engine. After dragging it out of the trails with the help of some fantastic Colorado locals, the Cayenne was loaded onto a trailer and shipped back to Berg Performance, where the shop had assembled their crew to help Ben get ole' Yippie back into running shape.
Swapping the engine in a car is a challenging task no matter what make and model, but the Porsche Cayenne Turbo makes it especially difficult with a cramped engine bay- and with just two days to get the Cayenne running, time isn't on anyone's side. Watch along as Ben and the Berg Performance techs tear the Cayenne apart and put it all back together in just a couple of days!

Fantastic work. I hope your transmission torque converter seal doesn't start leaking. It's a $20 part, but needs transmission out...which can be done with the engine in. The transmission is shared with the Toyota Land Cruiser, and is generally bullet-proof...except when the Porsche coolant leaks down there, gets crusty and shreds that seal. At 155K miles on my 04 Turbo, It is next on my list, and I'm dreading it, in my one car garage.

I buy & wrench on all kinds of junk cars but I've decided that there's two types I won't touch no matter how temptingly cheap they would be: 1. Fire damage 2. Flooded/Water damage. And this episode made me reiterate this rule to myself. Awesome job guys, I would have cried myself to sleep on the shop floor multiple times if I would've tried this myself lol.

33:40 did you blow out the lines? If not you're gonna burn through the dessicator in the compressor pretty quick...actually I would replace that forthwith even if you did blow out the lines since you wouldn't be able to get all the moisture out

Woo-Hoo! Great job! Are you going to make it waterproof? 😊 Too bad you aren't driving it back to CT - my GTS has a trip from CO to KY and back, and several trips between CO and MT. I loved getting a good look at the engine outside of the bay - very informative. Gotta love where the starter is located.
@fcpeuro
@fcpeuro 2 жыл бұрын
We now hide the Cayenne even in rain storms 😂It was a mistake not bringing a starter with us to replace while we were in there, because its in there obnoxiously deep! It is nice to have visual and physical access to the whole assembly that you wouldn't otherwise see when in the car, happy we could share that with everyone.
