Amid heightened security, fans attending the England-France game at Wembley stadium unite in singing the French national anthem. CNN's Max Foster reports.

I'm a longtime Manchester United fan and I was VERY happy to have seen this last night, no question! Sure, we don't like the French and they don't like us but in times like these, rivalries can be quickly forgotten and we saw the end result last night!! Great job, English fans!! Tip of the cap for that clearly classy gesture on your part! VIVE LE FRANCE! :-)

Geoff Broad Well Geoff, the small town in Jersey where I grew up when I was a kid was Bayonne and Bayonne happens to be a sister city of a town by the same name in the south of France too...I'm normally an England fan and I know they won this game 2-0 and while I was happy with that, for one game, I wouldn't have minded if the French had won it...this was epic to see, no question! :-)

It makes no difference, NONE , where or when or how anyone feels about any political or combat situation. WE, are ALL in this and tied to that event on 11/13/205. To Canadians like myself this reflects something magical between magical between French and English as Canadians and us quite frankly having French in our blood. My ancestry is practically 100% British and my most trusted friend's heritage, familially is Francophone. However despite the differences between English and French throughout history there is no way in my heart you could ever get me to betray our French brothers ever, and I would hope that it ever anything like World War II threatened France again I would be brave enough as my ancestors before me to fight to liberate her from oppression once more. Not really, the anthem is the incredibly aloof and arrogant noises of a silly country in love with itself. Hurts my ears. Only reason France is even became relevant is due to its complex relationship with England. England is the most influential and domineering nation in the history of the world, and is the father of the second most influential and domineering nation in the history of the world, so sharing the spotlight with them will undoubtedly elevate your status a bit😂

In the same way we remain silent for the fallen, they celebrate their life, they are active, they whistle in remembrance, it is simply their custom and their way of honoring the dead, it was not meant out of disrespect, if anything it was quite the opposite. They do it with their own when their soldiers are killed in the field and they whistle in exactly the same manner during those remembrances.
