He was playing alongside Will Hughes....our 3rd choice after Dacoure and Lerma who were both injured. Wharton is class! He reads the game so well and he is the most efficient player I have seen at Palace. So good with good decisions and can pick a pass like it's easy for him.

Wharton > Mainoo for sure I'm not tryna be toxic, but I've got my points Wharton has more experience than Mainoo. Yes, Mainoo plays for United; but who gives an f. He burst into the scene this season. But Wharton has been sort of a regular with the Rovers and now with Palace. He has everything in him to play for a big club. I wouldn't be surprised if he makes a move to a club like Spurs in the following transfer window. Proove me I'm wrong if you think Mainoo is better than Wharton However, why Wharton wouldn't get selected for the Euros? Well, it's a simple answer. He's not playing for a big club and the media and the toxic fans aren't circling around him like the toxic ppl did with Mainoo. He played like 15 odd matches this season by the time of the March International Camp. Toxic ppl and the media made him the ultimate future of the season by judging him with those 15 odd games, well, because he played for Man United. That kind of injection wouldn't happen around Wharton. I don't need to explain why...

Wharton definitely makes it into the squad. The midfield is looking healthy. If I was the manager: CAM: Bellingham, Foden, Maddison CM: Mainoo, Wharton, Gomes CDM: Rice, A.Gray Palmer comes in at RW even though he's a cam. Wharton over henderson everyday of the week. @@cbh14 He is definitely better than mainoo, and i rate mainoo highly myself. As I said I think mainoo is a top player for his age and so mature, but wharton takes that to just a different level. First of all defensively he is already better without debate, but even contributing to the attack with his vision and passing is next level for a player his age. I think mainoo is probably better at actually scoring with runs into the box and wriggling around players, but whartons position is to simply sit on the edge anyways. At this point in time Wharton is better but honestly they could both be in for england in the future for sure

You have all this talent but when it comes down to it, England has to realize that never wins like that. It happened to Brazil. It happened to France. It happened to Germany. It has happened to Argentina You have a system where you are now deciding that you have to bench Bukayo Saka for best in the world Cole Palmer. You can't bench Rice or Bellingham. So are you playing these guys out of position or what. Who drops? Many times, England gets too trigger happy and it costs them You know your point, your distributor, and your workhorse. That's how it was in the old golden gen. Stick with it

Bayern already have Pavlovic who they'll continue to give minutes to in order to develop him, in a midfield pivot alongside one of Goretzka, Laimer or Kimmich. There's no chance that they'd blow 60m on a player such as Wharton who needs another few years to adjust to top level football. More likely they'd go for Olise. That's if Bayern don't just do their usual tried and tested tactic of buying Leverkusens best players to weaken them.
