Everybody wants to accomplish their dreams, but honestly, how many people actually achieve their goals? Besides, our brains play tricks on us by filling our thoughts with fears and dilemmas, causing confusion and making us take a step back. We have to admit that feeling fear is inevitable when we don't know what's going to happen, but at the same time, that’s the exquisite thing of our lives. If you can put your fears aside, I promise you'll eventually achieve your dreams. Give it a try!

When Sarah was a little girl, she always dreamt of having loads of pets. She was an animal lover and she wanted to be a vet. Years passed, Sarah grew up and eventually she accomplished her childhood dreams. Although, it was not easy sailing for her, as she was faced with a dilemma when she finished school. She had to choose between staying closed to her family and friends or moving to a different place to accomplish her dreams. She took the plunge and decided to leave, it was inevitable that she was going to be a vet, due to her determination and passion. Now, she runs a vet surgery where she can look after loads of exquisite and loving animals.

I'm in London now, working remotely for a company in Argentina. I came to London to study English, I want to achieve a good level of English. I think studying English in London is a great idea, because I need to use the language all the time. In every situation (at the supermarket, at the hairdresser, etc.) I could say that improving English here is inevitable. However, I am in a dilemma right now. I don't know whether to go back to my country and continue studying English online, in which case I can save money. Either staying in London for a few more months, I could not save money, but I can practice my English with native speakers. Anyway, whatever my choice, after London I want to go to Italy, one of my friends told me that there are many beautiful places there and the food is exquisite. Eventually I will go to Spain too before returning to my country.

It was about a decade ago when I faced a dilemma whether to continue engaging in my career works or to follow my dream pursuit of meditation and finding peace of mind. Years of prior religious studies and deep reflections on the ephemeral nature of life made my choice of the latter inevitable. Eventually I was on the path to search for the exquisite knowledge or insight through mindful observation of mental phenomena. After years of practice, I now have accomplished to a certain extent what I intended to achieve, gaining respective knowledge and enjoying solace.

Task no.1 A story about kindness I was a shy kid. For many years I did not even dare to look straight into the eyes of an adult interlocutor. Don’t know if this was the result of my early education when my mom insisted on being over-respectful or if it is something that people are born with. I remember what my mother used to say: “Florin, if you want to be successful in life, you have to be kind with all people around you. That will inevitably drive you towards success”. The time passed rapidly and soon after I left the “family nest”. That was the moment when the process of getting mature started and I just realized that being always nice and kind is not always the fastest way to accomplish your own goals. It was a jungle out there and kindness was rather scarce than abundant. Suddenly, I was doubtful in regards to my mother’s advice. Was her teaching right? Or not? A serious dilemma occurred to my mind and continued to bother me for years. Consequently, I even tried to apply opposite tactics when having to achieve some desired results. I do remember now that I was mean and cruel a couple of times when the desired results seemed to be of paramount importance for my plans. However, somewhere in the background, my mother's advice (“be kind!”) was constantly “telling” me that hurting people around me is not the right way to get “up there”. The inevitable result was always a return to my mother’s way of sorting out things. Another big chunk of years passed and now, in my 50’s when I look back, I can definitely assess that results accomplished through kindness, gentleness and goodwill are much more solid and last much more than those earned by tough methods. While the latter would be achieved eventually faster, they will never have the same importance and value as those generated by consensus, dignity and generosity. To wrap-up, I only can only say that my mom was absolutely right and she gave me an exquisite education.

If I choose to focus more on learning one language, I will have less time to study the other. However, I understand this challenge is an inevitable situation, and I don’t give up on either language. In this game called "Life", it is inevitable to come across choices every step of the way. Some of them are easy peasy, but others could be genuine dilemmas. Our choices make us feel regretted or realised, guilt or pride, but ultimately, our choices determine whether we will accomplish our goals. I know it is tough, but eventually, we get used to it. In fact, as we get older, we realise that all these choices and possibilities make life so exquisite.

Slaving over my childhood, I learned, even remembering how inevitably my mother sang a lullaby cherishing the times from I was born till then, ever and ever again. Eventually, I realized she taught me that parents wouldn't live forever, while I fell asleep with the exquisite aroma of her perfumed arms skin drilling into my brain ecstatic and restless with the cruel truth she was going to die soon. The dilemma that burnt out my soul was what would be my life without my mother vanished into thin air after I closed my childhood door and became an adult before my fifteenth birthday. Every Sunday morning I brought a bouquet of flowers and put them on her tombstone and told her I will be a lawyer mom, I promise you, I took the plunge from then. Now in my thirties, being a lawyer every time I get up in the morning for work I yell, Mom, I accomplished my target.

Mistakes are inevitable; you've to go through them. You can minimize your errors under the guidance of an exquisite teacher”. I told my inner self, yes, you're right. Then I started learning English from different sources passively. Although it was not that much effective, I continued to learn. Eventually, I got to discover many new words and phrases. When learning a foreign language we may feel torn between our goals, what we want to accomplish and our fears, for it is a long and winding road towards fluency. Day in day out we must push ourselves to complete our tasks. With the rise AI-powered tools and Chat GPT we are now faced with an inevitable dilemma - Shall I complete this writing practice on my own or rely on AI ? If we are smart users of such tools they may eventually contribute to our progress and help us achieve our goals. We may then enjoy both the efficiency of AI and the exquisite podcast and lessons of the ELAN programme.

Sylvia's FIVE A DAY#1 As a master student who is eager to graduate by the end of this semester, I hope that I can accomplish all experiments ASAP. A fail on an experiment is quite common, and whenever it happens, I face a dilemma for not knowing which one I should do-to give up and focus on other works or to just do that again (and again). Sometimes I feel overwhelmed by all these tasks although I do know they are inevitable. So i’m trying to cheer myself up and become mentally stronger, believing good results will eventually come . I don’t expect my thesis to be an “exquisite masterpiece” (in fact it’s far from that haha), but of course I’ll try my best to make it better and better.💪💪💪

Any choice that seems to be just slightly out of their daily routine makes them feel frustrated or even anxious. And the more inevitable this choice is, the harder it becomes to make it. It feels good to accomplish something new in language learning every day, no matter how small the achievement may seem. Unfortunately, there is never enough time in a day to complete all the tasks I have planned. It becomes a dilemma to decide which task to sacrifice, but eventually, I must make up my mind and avoid being indecisive. Once I’ve made my choices, there are inevitably be some tasks left undone. For instance, I had planned to visit a picturesque and exquisite garden in the countryside two months ago, but this trip had to be postponed because I recently committed to a regular English challenge.

Writing in any language can be a daunting task. The idea of accomplishing such a task without making any mistakes poses a dilemma: should we be pedantic about it; or just go with the flow? Eventually, it ought to be carried out. Even though mistakes are at times inevitable - because of our state of mind, peer pressure or knowledge - we must never give up and try our best. But either way, striving to complete an exquisite ‘work of art’; or just having fun and learning in the process - we will definitely improve our writing skills.

I love it, a great piece of work here. One suggestion is to switch the order of "never give up" and "try our best" - as to remove any doubt about whether NEVER also belongs to "try our best" or not. Suggestion: we must try our best and never give up.

A friend of mine called me several time this mornig. I was out for jogging and I left my cell phone at home. Eventually three time after his first call, I heared the ringing phone when I just came back. I noticed in her voice someone who is about to cry or to demolish everything around him. Speaking English fluently is a really difficult task to accomplish, altHough I trust that I will get it eventually, I can´t deny that there ARE so many obstAcles ALONG THE WAY. When you´re learning something new IT is inevitable, there´s always going to be difficulties and times where you don´t want to keep going with your learning process. You FIND yourself in a dilemma where you ask yourself if it´s really worth IT. But then, when I see people like Anna who are giving tips and SHARING THEIR KNOWLEDGE on their channel without wanting to receive somethinG specfic in exchange, I FEEL motivated. I BEGIN to think ABOUT why I started to learn English and how I WANT TO share my music with the whole world, just like Anna does with her English skills in a very exquisite way. So thanks for being a great source of motivation and discipline.

The young woman felt so disappointed. She was definitely the type who wanted it all. ‘You can’t have your cake and eat it too,’, her mother had said, but Mary was determined to give it a try nonetheless. As a matter of fact, she was facing a dilemma: should she go to her best friend’s wedding, and therefore give up her only chance of a wonderful once-in-a-lifetime holiday in the Caribbean? Moving the holiday to the following week would no doubt prove to be a daunting task, as the travel agent had been adamant about keeping to the dates. Mary was torn: she perfectly knew how much Jane, her best friend, counted on her as bridesmaid, and letting her down was not an option, although it seemed to be inevitable. She therefore set to work and…you won’t believe it, but she eventually managed to get all her ducks in a row. Mary successfully accomplished the difficult task of rescheduling her holiday, and on the wedding day she looked beautiful in her exquisite vanilla dress.
