Absolutely beautiful. I also love to potter around the garden first thing in the morning after a night shift and smell the roses, secateurs at the ready for any spent flowers.

The garden is looking so lush and full and wonderful. Love the combination of all the various trees, roses and perennials. A beautiful English garden you have created there.

Absolutely beautiful Darren, your garden tours are always a delight. I also get excited over my Rose's. I've almost fallen into the boarders a few times whilst bending to give them a good sniff 😉 Loving my new Desdemona, she's gorgeous. X

Here in Ohio, the first fluch of roses is the largest and finest, once summer heat begins, the roses decrease in size because the plant is struggling to remain hydrated. Valerian root, dried and powdered smells like bad socks, but it has a reputation for helping to reduce insomnia, so forgotten, it really does belong in a proper cottage garden. 0:58 Rambling Rector is going to be a veritable "waterfall" of blossoms! 6:00 Hello there Ava sweetie! Happy springtime to you! Less house confinement!🧡🧡 6:30 You have a PROPER English cottage garden populated not merely with wonderful roses, but with gorgeous upreaching perennials and your Japanese maples would meet with Getrude Jekyll and Vita Sackville West's approval, they would both be delighted to have your Japanese maples. 8:38 My Eustacia Vye, in her massive terracotta pot, spent the winter indoors in the 45 degree room, her first flush has passed, now she is loading up again and her fragrance is intoxicating, I can not get near her without stuffing my nose into her petals and inhaling deeply, old rose scent , strong, with menthol under notes, and that illuminated , glow in the center of her blooms is very nice to see. Everyone must have Eustacia Vye. . 8:41 This scene epitomizes the perfect English cottage garden, it looks natural, unplanned, but in fact it IS planned, then , as we know, the best laid plans of mice and men oft go astray, so we as gardeners are sort of driving a vehicle with loose steering that goes APPROXIMATELY where we want it to go 😆😆 These are the good old days, come January, we shall realize that. Thank you for sharing the lovely sight with the world!

Thank you for sharing your beautiful garden, Darren. I also share a passion for roses and Japanese Maples, amongst lots of other plants! How do you keep the black spot at bay? As you do not use chemicals, do you use a natural spray or do you just remove the diseased leaves? I have downy mildew on my Eustacia Vye, which is a shame as it has a beautiful fragrance and colour. Your Emily Brontë looks fantastic, I am tempted to purchase a bare root plant in the Autumn!

I have Eustasia Vye and Emily Bronte. And neither look anything like yours. I had to train EB like a climbing rose or I got nothing but six foot canes with three flowers on top. I tied it up into a ball and every leaf node turned into three to six flowers with a repeat on about a third. EV is a unique peachy pinky spiny thing. It smells like candy.
