Introvert and shy are not the same thing. There are confident and charismatic introverted people who don't say much, but when they do say something, everybody listens. They fill the room with their quiet presence. On the other hand, there are extraverted people who are not very confident, but rather nervous and uncertain of themselves. They talk a lot in order to hide their insecurity.

Hi there, I'm not sure pregnancy is a "health condition", I would say it is physiological for a woman, but I might be wrong ;-) Anyway, I agree with you, this lesson is packed with phrases we can use in our daily lives. Cheers!

Interestingly we often use the word condition when talking about pregnant women. "You shouldn't do that in your condition". I wouldn't say 'health' condition though. :)

I love this phreas "laid-back". In a situation when I used to have a short fuse it is a good practice to literally lay back in the chair. This posture will calm me down and I would not be easily irritated. I practice this wittingly because I have a short fuse sometimes.

I watched this video for the second time and I found it so valuable. Do "quick tempered", lose his temper and to be a short fuse mean the same? English is fantastic! You can describe one kind of personality in several ways! I'm in love with English and the way you teach it!
@EnglishLikeANative
@EnglishLikeANative 2 жыл бұрын
Yes they all mean the same things but to be short tempered and to have a short fuse describe the personality or mood in general, whereas to lose one’s tempered is an outcome/result of something. So we could say, Anna is normally mild-mannered and calm but when she saw the cat being mistreated she quickly lost her temper.

Hi there, I'm not a native speaker, but in my little experience I've heard "take an exam", "sit an exam", "do a test", "have an exam", but you can "give a presentation" (during a meeting, in front of your colleagues, for example). :)

@@lauradomenici578 Thanks. And I learnt that the correct English is "we take exam" and not give . That's the reason I asked. Anyway thanks a lot.

Laura is correct. In BrE we say take / sit an exam. However you can say that the examiner (the person handing out the exams) gives the exam (this is more common in AmE I believe. I also have a suspicion that give is used in Indian English, so it depends which version of English you are following. :)
